AILET 2020 - Important Dates, Application Form, Admit Card, Syllabus

AILET 2020 or All India Law Entrance Test is a National Level Test conducted by National Law University, Delhi every year to offer admission in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Programmes. The exam would be an offline examination and conducted every year on the first Sunday of May. The courses offered in the NLUs mainly are:

  • BA LLB
  • LLM
  • PhD courses

Qualifying the examination will give candidates a ticket to take admission in National Law Universities across India in the above-mentioned courses.

AILET 2020 Application Form

AILET 2020 Application Form will be available on the official website of the NLU, Delhi. The Application form will be available only online and no other mode of application will be accepted under any circumstances. The application form will be available by First week of January 2020 and last till First week of April 2020 after which no application will be submitted.

Stages of Application are mentioned below:

  • Registration of the candidates wherein they will put up their email, mobile number and personal details.
  • The application form will be filled next using the login credentials sent to emails. Students are supposed to fill up correct information and fill the entire mandatory * marked fields.
  • Next would be the upload of required documents (scanned copy of original documents)
  • Next up would be the application fee payment.

AILET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

AILET 2020 Eligibility Criteria is mentioned below for the aspirants who wish to pursue Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses offered by the National Law Universities across India:

B.A LL.B (Hons.):

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed 10th and 12th with a recognized Board.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates should have obtained 50% marks in their board examinations.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are appearing their class 10th or 12th can also apply for the AILET 2020 Examination.

LL.M:

  • Qualification Exam: Candidates must have graduation degree from any recognized University/Institute.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing for the LLB final year exam are also eligible for AILET 2020 Examination.

PhD:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate must hold the master’s degree in Law from a recognized University.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidate must secure a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent (50% marks for reserved categories).

AILET 2020 Admit Card

AILET 2020 Admit Card will be available by Fourth week of April 2020 on the official website of NLU, Delhi (Organizing University). Students are supposed to keep the following points in their mind regarding the admit card before they appear for the AILET 2020 Examination:

  • It is mandatory to carry admit cards to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID proof which will help in verification.
  • If there is any discrepancy in the admit card, get in touch with the officials immediately and get it rectified as incorrect information won’t be entertained at the time of examination if found and the chances of not being able to sit for the examination are also high.
  • If the candidates are appearing for the examination in a new city then kindly go and visit the examination centre before the day of examination.
  • Students will not be allowed to sit in any other examination centre but the one they’ve been allotted to.

 AILET 2020 Syllabus

AILET 2020 Syllabus is mentioned below subject and section-wise:

  • English: English section will include the questions from vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, word usage, Para jumble, grammar, reading comprehension, and foreign words/ phrases, etc.
  • Legal Aptitude: In this section, important topics are a strict liability, the law of crimes, torts, vicarious liability, contracts, and constitutional law, legal awareness and international law, etc.
  • Reasoning: Logical reasoning will be based on the topics series, directions, syllogism, analogies, blood relations, critical reasoning, etc.
  • GK and Current Affairs: This section will include questions from current affairs, sports, awards and honours, internal events, UN bodies, history, general science, economics, geography, civics, eminent personalities, etc.

BA LLB (Hons.) Candidates must prepare English, general knowledge (current affairs, general science, history, geography, economics, and civics), the reasoning of legal skills and notions of elementary mathematics (numerical ability).

PhD candidates can study the master’s program related subjects and can expect the same in the AILET 2020 examination.

AILET 2020 Preparation Tips

AILET 2020 Preparation Tips are stated below which can be very useful and helpful for the students who are willing to score well in the Examination:

  • Students are requested to go through the Syllabus first of all the things and they must prepare how to go on with each subject which includes the time distribution, management of resources and various other important factors.
  • Once the preparation chart is ready, start with the preparation which will include studying all the important topics in-depth, not so important topics in brief but do not miss on any topic as this test tests the ability.
  • Make notes of everything as it is easier to refer notes than going through all over again.
  • Daily revision is an important aspect.

AILET 2020 Result

AILET 2020 Result will be available on the official website by Fourth week of May 2020 for BA LLB (Hons.) course and by First week of July 2020 for LLM students. Students are requested to keep a track of their result announcement after which the process of counselling will begin and only those who could qualify the examination will be taken further for counselling. Students will need their login credentials to get their results online.

AILET 2020 Counselling

AILET 2020 Counselling will begin from May 2020. Students who qualify the examination will be eligible to sit for the counselling and will be allotted a seat for which they have applied for. The process will be held in offline mode at the National Law University, Delhi based on the Merit list.
