Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Rank List will be released by Directorate of Medical Education (DME). Candidates who want to appear for the counselling process will have to check the merit list to make sure that they are eligible to apply for the same. Merit list is prepared after the application process gets over. Names of the candidates who have secured the minimum required percentile in the NEET UG exam and have completed the application process is included in the merit list of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2023. The authority will release a separate Tamil Nadu MBBS 2023 merit list for government, management, and 7.5% government school quota. Tamil Nadu 2023 NEET Merit List Latest Updates

• Tamil Nadu NEET UG Round 1 Joining Date Extended: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research has extended the joining time for candidates selected in round 1 of Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling 2023 for MBBS and BDS courses. The new joining deadline is August 14, 5 PM.
• Candidate Representation: The decision to extend the joining time was prompted by numerous representations from candidates, leading to the extension of the Round 1 joining period for the academic year 2023-2024 session.
• Fee Payment Instructions: Officials reiterated the importance of adhering to fee payment instructions outlined in the prospectus. Payment options include debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI through nationalized banks’ payment portals.
• Proof of Fee Payment: The deduction of fees from a bank account is not considered proof of payment. Candidates must provide accurate account details during registration for proper fee refund procedures.
• Fee Exemption for Eligible Candidates: SC, ST, SCA, SC converts to Christianity candidates allotted seats in the Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2023 management quota with a parent’s annual income below Rs 2,50,000 are exempted from paying tuition fees before downloading the allotment order.
• Warning to Self-Financing Institutions: Officials issued a warning to self-financing institutions, cautioning against refusing admission or demanding higher fees than those prescribed by the Fee Fixation Committee during MBBS and BDS counselling rounds.
• Adherence to Admission Process: Self-financing institutions must adhere to the admission process and fee regulations to avoid strict actions in cases of non-compliance.
• The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Tamil Nadu has released the TN NEET UG counselling 2023 Round 1 seat allotment result.
• Result Availability: Candidates can access their results on the official website, tnmedicalselection.net.
• Provisional Allotment Letter: Successful candidates who have been allotted seats in Round 1 can download their provisional allotment letters from August 7 to August 11.
• Reporting to Institutes: Candidates allotted seats in this round are required to report to their designated institutes by August 11 (5 pm).
• Document Verification: The document verification process will take place at the allotted colleges. Candidates must bring their original documents and scanned copies for verification.
• Subsequent Rounds: There will be a Round 2 and a mop-up round of TN NEET counselling 2023 based on the availability of vacant seats.
• Opting for Categories: Candidates who did not opt for self-financing MBBS (Category B) seats in Round 1 will not be considered for that category in Round 2, as per DMER Tamil Nadu.
• Seat Allotment Criteria: The TN MBBS seat allotment is determined by the candidates’ choices, NEET UG score, state merit rank, reservation, and other relevant criteria established by the authority.
• Admission Procedure: Candidates are strongly advised to report to their allotted colleges on or before the specified deadline to secure their admission. Failure to do so may result in cancellation without further notice.
• Scope of Counselling: DME Tamil Nadu conducts the TN MBBS and BDS counselling for 85% state quota and 100% of private colleges seats. Admissions to the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats are managed through NEET 2023 counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Rank List Tie-breaking criteria

In case of two candidates having equal scores  the following tie-breaking criteria will be used by DME to resolve ties and prepare the Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS merit list:

1. Candidates with higher marks in Biology will be given a higher rank on the merit list

2. Aspirants obtaining higher scores in Chemistry will be awarded a higher rank in the merit list of Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS 2023

3. Applicants with a lesser wrong answer will be allotted a better rank in Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list

4. Candidate senior in age will be placed higher in Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list

Number of Seats

The candidates who are or will be applying for the admission in the medical colleges of Tamil Nadu must know about the number of seats in each of the colleges. As the candidate has to make its choice regarding the college and by this, the candidate will know more about this process.
