What is the latest paper pattern CBSE Class 10 2025?

Contains

the board has made certain changes in the CBSE exam pattern 2025. For CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2023, question papers would comprise 40% MCQs of multiple choice questions. 20% would be competency-based questions and the remaining 40% would constitute subjective or short/long answer type questions.

Exam Pattern

  • The CBSE Class 10th board exams will be conducted in two parts:
    • Theory: The theory paper will be of 3 hours duration and will be for 80 marks.
    • Internal Assessment: The internal assessment will be for 20 marks and will include periodic tests, notebook submissions, and subject enrichment activities.
  • The question paper will be a mix of objective and subjective questions.
  • The objective questions will be of 3 types:
    • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • True/False Questions
    • Fill in the Blanks
  • The subjective questions will be of 2 types:
    • Short Answer Questions (SAQs)
    • Long Answer Questions (LAQs)

Marking Scheme

  • The theory paper will be marked out of 80, with each question carrying 1 mark.
  • The internal assessment will be marked out of 20, with each component carrying a different weightage.
  • The total marks for the CBSE Class 10th board exams are 100.

Passing Criteria

  • To pass the CBSE Class 10th board exams, a student must secure at least 33% marks in each subject.
  • The overall pass percentage for the board exams will be calculated by dividing the total number of students who passed by the total number of students who appeared for the exams.

CBSE Class 10th Exam Pattern 2025– Detailed Analysis

After restarting the Board Exams in Class 10th, the CBSE will be also brought CBSE new exam pattern for Class 10th and changes in the internal assessment (IA). As per the new pattern, the term systems and CCE have been replaced by a single annual examination by the authority. The class 10th is consists of a total of 100 marks which is subdivided further as:

  • Annual Board Exam: 80 Marks
  • Internal Assessment: 20 Marks

Annual Exam –

As per the latest CBSE Class 10th Marking System, the maximum marks are 80 for each subject. Students required to secure 33% which is the passing marks in CBSE class 10th out of 80 in each subject. Individual grades and marks will be given for each subject. The total time duration of the exam is 3 Hours.

CBSE Class 10th Marks System – Internal Assessment (IA)

It is informed that 3 periodic tests will be held in the entire academic session and the average of the best two marks will be considered for the final weightage.

  • Periodic Tests (PT) – 10 marks each
  • Notebook Submission – 5 marks
  • Subject Activities – 5 marks

 Social Science is considered one of the most scoring subjects in 10th standard. As per the CBSE latest notification, the board covers the whole syllabus of Geography, History, Civics, and Economics in Social Science.

  • All the questions are compulsory.

The exam pattern for CBSE Class 10th Board Exam consists of 4 sections i.e. A, B, C, and D. Class 10 Maths Exam carries 80 marks for 30 questions.

Hindi Syllabus is consisting of three parts. Section One gives knowledge regarding grammar. While, the second part is for writing, and the last part is regarding questions from the book.
