Chandigarh NMMS 2023 also called the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship examination, is available for class VIII candidates. The official authority to conduct the NMMS exam is the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Government of India. The State Council of Educational Research and training shall be in-charge of conducting the Chandigarh NMMS 2023 Examination. The purpose of the NMMS exam is to look for gifted and knowledgeable students in economically poor areas at the start of the VIII class and to financially assist such students to get the best education. Under this scheme, 1, 00,000 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarships will begin from class IX and would remain until class XII. NMMS Chandigarh 2023 Application form

• The Application Forms can be downloaded from the website of SCERT Chandigarh i.e. or can be collected from the office of the Director of the SCERT.
• The candidates are required to visit the official site of the authority and register themselves and create a new ID.
• After that, the candidates can download the application form available on the website.
• Before filling in the application form, the candidate is advised to check the eligibility criteria and all the other details related to the application process.
• After checking all the details candidates are required to fill the form and attach the documents mentioned in the form.

NMMS Chandigarh 2023 Eligibility Criteria

• Students studying in Class VIII in Local bodies and Government funded Schools are eligible. 
• The candidates must have at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Class VII examination for appearing in the NMMS Chandigarh exam (relaxed by 5% for backward classes).
• The students should be studying as regular students in Government, Government-funded, and local body schools.
• Parental income of the candidate from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1, 50,000/- per annum.
• Income Certificate issued by Government in case if the parents serve as Govt. Employees and in case of any private service/job, affidavit attested from Magistrate/Notary has to be attached with the form.

NMMS Chandigarh 2023 Paper Pattern

The exam is held offline, the candidates are required to appear in two sessions i.e. Scholastic Aptitude Test also called as SAT and the Mental Ability also called as MAT. After the completion of the exam, the result of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2023-23 will be announced by SCERT on the official website. The scholarship will be provided by the authority to the candidates who have scored more than the cut-off marks decided by the authority.

Cut-off for NMMS Chandigarh 2023

The cut-off marks for the NMMS Chandigarh 2023 examination will be released online by the official authority. The passing criteria is- students must pass both the papers i.e. MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks in aggregate for these two papers taken together.
