Andhra Pradesh NMMS 2023 Scholarship

  • One lakh Scholarships: Under the NMMS Scholarship Scheme, 100,000 scholarships are given to those students who are very good in their studies and whose family income is less than Rs 1,50,000 per annum.
  • Amount of Scholarship:  The amount of scholarship will be Rs. 12000/- per annum @ Rs. 1000 per month.
  • Each state/UT has fixed the quota for granting scholarships to the students of class 7th and 8th according to the annexure. The plan will provide reservation to different categories of students as per State/UT norms; As different states/UTs have their own norms of reservation.
  • A separate examination shall be conducted by the State Governments/UT Administrations for the selection of scholars for the award of the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarships in the States/UTs.

  • For continuation in class 12th, a student must score 55% marks in his 11th standard.
  • Students from Sainik school, KV’s or other private schools are not eligible to apply.

NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria given below to be eligible to sit in the NEST 2024 examination.

  • Qualifying Exam: Applicants must have passed the 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized Board in the years 2023 or 2024 or be appearing in 2024.
  • Subjects: Applicant should be from regular science stream with the only combination of minimum 3 subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics in classes 11th and 12th.
  • Minimum Marks: Applicants must secure minimum 60% marks in aggregate in class 12th exam. For applicants from SCPWD/PWD categories, the minimum required marks is relaxed to 55% in aggregate.
  • Age Limit:
    • General and OBC category applicants should born on or after 01 August 2004.
    • The age limit is relaxed by 5 yrs. for SC/ST/PWD applicants.

NEST 2024 Scoring System

  • In NEST 2024 examination, there would four subject sections of 60 marks each.
  • And Aspirants can attempt ‘as many’ from the subject sections.
  • Also, while preparing the merit list for admission, the score for the general section would be considered along with three best scores from the remaining subject sections. In other words, the worst score among section 1 through 3 would be discarded during merit list calculation.
  • As merit list calculation will be performed on marks obtained in the general section and in (best) three subject sections, the ‘total’ marks for NEST 2024 becomes 180 (60*3 = 180).

Sikkim University will be admitting students to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) in 2024. This is a new development, as Sikkim University had previously conducted its own entrance exams for admission.

  • The CUET is a national level entrance exam that will be held in multiple centers across India.
