DU DSE MA (Economics) Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Admission to this course has a number of steps :

Eligibility: A candidate must be a graduate with B.An Economics is considered eligible to apply. 50 per cent of the total seats are filled through merit and the other 50 per cent are filled through an Entrance exam.

Indian student (General): Indian Nationals can get admission through two modes, mentioned above.

For both there is a certain criterion:

  • Direct Mode: Student must have secured at least 60% aggregate in B.A. Economics (Hons).
  • Entrance Mode: Student must have secured at least 60% or 1st division or equivalent CGPA in any UnderGraduate/PostGraduate degree in any subject.
  • Foreign Students: A foreign national may be given choice to choose either to take a departmental test or submit their GRE scores along with 2 letters of recommendation from their 2 academic referees.
  • Entrance mode: Anyone who chooses to apply this way must fill the form online and apply within the prescribed.

Courses are taken in the following sequence:

  • Semester I: Macroeconomic Theory, Introductory Mathematical Economics, Macroeconomic Theory
  • Semester II: Introductory Econometrics, Markets, Institutions, and Economic                   Growth, Economic Development & Policy in India, One optional paper
  • Semester III:   Four optional papers
  • Semester IV:   Four optional papers

DU DSE MA (Economics) Admission 2022 Exam Pattern

Before appearing for the exam you must know the pattern of the same. You must be thorough with the bachelor’s concepts and have knowledge about the below-mentioned topics :

COVID Relief Student Scholarships 2021-22: Many corporates, government organization and individuals philanthropy released Covid-19 scholarships for the students who have lost their parent(s)/earning family member(s) or whose families have lost their livelihood due to the pandemic. The Scheme is being implemented by AICTE to provide encouragement and support to orphans, wards of parents died due to Covid-19, wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed) to pursue education. List of Ongoing scholarship details

SWANATH SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR STUDENTS: A maximum of 2000 scholarships (1000 for Degree Students and 1000 for Diploma Students) will be awarded every year to eligible candidates as above. JEE Main 2022 Notification will be announced soon. However, the registration process for various other Engineering Entrance exams like VITEEE, SRMJEE has been started. Apart from JEE Main and JEE Advanced, there are various state-level engineering entrance exams that are conducted for admission to B.Tech and M.Tech courses in India. The Registration process for various private engineering colleges, including the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and the SRM Institute of Science and Technology will be held as per schedule. Students must check the latest updates about the List of Engineering Entrance Exams to be held in 2022. The latest updates about various state CETs – TS EAMCET, KCET, WBJEE, OJEE – and institute-level entrance exams – VITEEE, BITSAT, and SRMJEE are provided in this article. Other than JEE Mains, there are ample other Engineering entrance exams in which the candidates can appear after completing class 12th. These exams are conducted at the National and state levels. Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE 2022) is expected to be held in May. Students will have to appear in the entrance test based on the subjects of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and English Aptitude. WBJEE 2022: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts WBJEE – the common entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and technology, pharmacy, and architecture. WBJEE 2022 Registration process will begin soon. The application form for the WBJEE exam will be released online. SRMJEE 2022 Registration for 2022-23 is started. The last date for phase I registration is 2 January 2022. AMUEEE 2022: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will be organizing AMUEEE 2022 to select candidates for admissions into its engineering courses. LPU’s National Entrance and Scholarship Test LPUNEST

LPU’s National Entrance and Scholarship Test: LPU NEST is an entrance test of LPU to numerous programs. Till 2019 this test was considered as a test to avail scholarship at LPU. From 2020 onwards, LPU NEST is not only a scholarship and entrance test to LPU. An applicant who clear this test and joins any of the IITs/NITs, he/she can also get a study grant of up to 2 lakhs to pursue higher studies at IITs/NITs.

The total grant value LPU has launched is of Rs 7.7 crores for students who join IITs/NITs.There are total 23 IITs across the country and 10 students entering each of these IITs, after cracking LPU NEST 2021, can obtain a study grant of Rs 2 lakhs each. Moreover, each of the 10 students taking affirmation at any of the 31 NITs can avail scholarship of Rs 1 lakh. As such, 540 students can get a study grant up to 2 lakhs each.

This is a very unique opportunity for the students who have a dream of studying at the top institutions of the country.  Shedding light on this scholarship test,  Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal stated “ LPU was started as a social enterprise, and presently it has also provided scholarship up to 300 crores to 20 thousand students who joined LPU. This year, we thought we could further support students to join several top institutes like IITs/NITs. So, LPU has introduced a study grant, and we really hope that students will be able to get benefit from this”.

Every year more than 1 lakh 50 thousand students aspire to get the scholarship via “LPU NEST” which is an online test conducted in 200+ centres across the country and in 50+ countries. This year, in 2019, this test is being conducted in two phases- 21 January to 05 February 2020 and 05 – 30 April 2020. After Schedule I, if an applicant wants to improve the result, he/she may also appear for the second time under Schedule II. The better score will be considered for the final calculation of the cut-offs/ ranks.

The pattern for the question paper in the LPU NEST is 30 questions on Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology and 20 questions based on English syllabus. There is no negative marking in this exam and each correct answer fetches 4 marks. The syllabus for this test is similar to that of the 10+2 class.
