Indian Navy will Consider JEE Main Rank
Indian naval academy

Indian Navy will consider JEE MAIN rank for shortlisting the candidates for SSB interview in 10+2 B.Tech in their cadet entry scheme for January Batch 2020. First, the Navy implemented plans to ensure that newly joined officers should have B.Tech degree, apart from the traditional military values and skills of leadership, for the graduating batch of the Indian Naval Academy, Kerala. Aiming for hi-tech advancement with state-of-the-art warships, war weapon, and sensor machine being progressively induced by the Indian navy force, Navy wants its “sea warriors” to be skilled in handling the challenges of the huge technological revolution.

Latest Update: JEE Mains 2023 Application Form is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Indian Navy will consider JEE MAIN rank

As per Nausena website that from January 2020 course, for which the Notifications will commence in May/June 2019, the shortlisting of aspiring candidates for SSB for 10+2 B.Tech Entry Scheme of the Indian Navy will be based only on JEE Main rank and “not on the previous basis of PCM percentage of 12th”. Candidates, therefore, should appear for JEE Main 2020 exam, the JEE MAIN registration process has been started.

Consequently, PCM % obtained in the Class 12th board exams will not be valid for 10+2 B.Tech Entry scheme any longer. “as Different intermediate state examination boards have gone demented in awarding high marks in 12th marks. Finding the quality of Aspirants coming for the services selection board (SSB) interview or training very unequal,” said a Senior Naval officer.

He also added “The JEE Main ranks, which the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has agreed to share with Indian Navy. With the approval for the move from Government, candidates aspiring for the Indian Navy will have to appear for the JEE Main 2020 for the eligibility for the January 2019 course at Indian Naval Academy,”.

Also, the first direct-entry batch of B.Tech officers passed out in May 2013 from the INA. Since then, the Indian Navy has three entry schemes for the officer.

Disadvantages Of Dropping A Year For IIT / JEE Exam

0

Candidates who are planning to drop a year after class 12 or dropping a year for IIT JEE exam must read this article. This article will be also beneficial for those who have thought of dropping 2 years after class 12. NTA conducts the JEE Main exam. NTA conducts the exam twice a year in the month of January and April. Around 12 – 13 lakh candidates compete for few thousand seats in JEE exam. JEE Main result of the candidates will determine the admission opportunities for them. Based on the score and the cutoff, candidates will get admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.

The final factors of dropping the year for most of the candidates will be the branch and institute they want to get selected in. The question that arises in the candidate’s mind is whether to give an attempt for the exam or to drop the year and prepare for the next year.

The JEE Main 2023 is being conducted in multiple Sessions (April/May 2023). Check Detailed Information Here > JEE Main 2023

Disadvantages Of Dropping A Year For IIT / JEE Exam

There are numerous factors for not dropping a year for the IIT JEE exam are listed below:

  1. Candidates have only three attempts
    • The authority has clearly mentioned that every candidate has only three chances to appear for the JEE Main exam.
    • The attempt starts from the year candidate is appearing for class 12. The point is that if the candidate will drop a year or two for the preparation of the exam, they will lose their number of attempts.
    • Candidates should not waste the chance and should appear for the exam.
    • The candidate even if not get selected will at least get to know how to prepare and cover their mistakes.
  2. The syllabus is clear and memorized
    • The candidates appearing or just appeared in class 12 have a more clear understanding of the concepts and topics of IIT syllabus as it is completely based on the CBSE, ICSE and states board exams.
    • Candidates who might drop a year will have to study the concepts again and have to invest more time and money for the preparation of the exam.
    • Since the competition is increasing every year, students cannot risk by taking a drop as chances of clearing the exam next year would be risky and can lead to demotivation.
  3. Increase in number of applicants every year
    • Candidates who are having a thought to drop the year for the preparation should know that the number of applicants appearing for the examination is increasing every year.
    • Dropping the year might help the candidate to be prepared but eventually will increase the competition too.
    • The number of candidates applying for the exam will directly make it harder to get a good rank.
    • Candidates should appear in the exam and may give their best.

Important Guidelines

  • Candidates who are dropping a year for IIT / JEE exam is not advised to the candidates.
  • Candidates who are not much prepared should rather than dropping the exam, give the exam and understand how to come back with better preparation.
