AICTE list of the approved progressive closed institution for the academic year 2019-2020. The list of approved colleges has been released by All India Council for Technical Education along with closure list. AICTE approves 778 colleges progressive closure application till now. Progressive Closure means Institute cannot admit the students for the first year during the Academic Year for which Progressive Closure is Granted, However the existing students will continue.

Note: Here Progressive Closure means Institute/college can not take admission of the students after the Progressive Closure is Granted, whereas the existing students will complete their education/degree from the institute and nothing to worry for existing candidates.
The AICTE released the list of 122 colleges granted to close their admission, which lead to close their college after completion of the degree of existing students. AICTE accepted their closure application and published closed & approved Engineering College list.

The total of 778 colleges got approval for progressive closure in last 8 years i.e session 2012-13 to 2019-20, an average of 100 colleges gets closed every year. These colleges are of belong to the below-mentioned streams:

The AICTE approved colleges are spread across India. And All India Council for Technical Education is the only authority in India to approve and regulate technical education. The list states that out of all the 29 states and 7 Union territories, Maharashtra is on the top position in the list with 1,549 Approved colleges followed by Tamil Nadu with 1,344 and Uttar Pradesh with 1,130 colleges.
Looking at the closure list the candidates seeking admission in session 2017-18 are advised to check the status of colleges approval. And then only go for admission as the progressive closure may going to harm their future.
