Every year, around 15 Lakh Engineering Aspirants appear for JEE Main Examination. Out of these, only around 2 Lakh candidates qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced. Syllabus of JEE Main only consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of Class XI and Class XII. So, it is necessary for students to know how to prepare for each subject. Here, we are providing the JEE Main 2018 Preparation Tips: Physics.
JEE Main 2018 Preparation Tips: Physics
Most candidates feel that Physics in the question paper of JEE Main is very hard. Its questions cannot be solved. But it is not at all true. It depends on how you study the topics.
In Physics, honing the basics is the first step of preparation. CBSE sets the question paper of Physics by taking questions from basics only. Studying each topic in depth is very much important.
Before studying from any reference book, NCERT is the must. Most candidates do not study from NCERT saying that it is very hard to understand. But, if your basics are clear, then it would be very much simple to understand NCERT. It is a must book because most of the questions are around the topics discussed in NCERT only. Though, referring to other books is not bad. But, give your first preference to NCERT.
JEE Main 2018 Preparation Tips: Physics: Topic Wise Preparation
-
Waves and Oscillations: Concepts must be clear on this topic. Studying SHM is important.
-
Electrostatics: This topic is very much scoring. But the concepts should be clear.
-
Optics: It is an easy topic. There are two parts in it. First is Ray Optics and the other is Wave Optics. Wave Optics should be studied with more concentration.
-
Modern Physics: It is important for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It is easier and so scoring. It needs a lot of practice of numerical.
JEE Main 2018 Preparation Tips: Physics: Other Important Topics
Though the above topics are the must study, other important topics through which you can score good marks include:
-
Magnetism
-
Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current
-
Current Electricity
-
Dimensional Analysis
-
Communication Systems
-
Gravitation
-
Kinetic Theory

After all the theoretical knowledge, practical knowledge is also necessary. For this, practice the practicals included in CBSE / NCERT syllabus so that the questions that come from practical part can also be solved. Visit JEE MAIN official website for syllabus http://jeemain.nic.in
Making Short Notes and also releasing stress is also necessary.
At last, solving the previous year papers and giving a lot of mock tests for practice and own analysis is also necessary. Without this, preparation cannot be complete.
