New Changes JEE Main 2017: IIT Madras will conduct the JEE Entrance Exam, Official Dates are Announced, JEE MAIN 2017 will be held on SUNDAY 2nd April 2017.

The HRD Minister has given a significant decision on JEE exams and it is decided that 12th class marks of the students will not be taken into account while admitting them to UG course of Engineering. This rule will be taken into consideration from next year.

The IIT JEE Joint Entrance Exam 2017 will be organised by IIT Madras in 2017. Last year IIT Guwahati conducted this Exam whereas this year IIT Madras got chance to conduct it This is a National Level exam where around 11 lakhs students appeared in 2016,

This is admission test for various Bachelors Degree program in 23 IITs and Indian School of Mines ISM, Followed by NITs and list of other engineering colleges.

Examination Important Dates are yet to be announced by CBSE Central Board of Secondary Education.

According to an Official, students falling in the general category need to score 75 per cent marks or in top 20 percentile in class 12th examination to qualify for appearing in this exam, The ST-SC students need 65 per cent marks to appear in the examination.

All other things will remain unchanged

The percentages of various categories for Joint Entrance Exam:

  • 27 percent for OBC -NCL
  • 15 percent for SC
  • 7.5 percent for ST
  • 50.5 per cent is open for all
  • 3 percent horizontal reservation will be available for PwD including dyslexic candidates in each of these four categories.

Total Attempts:

A candidate is allowed to appear for JEE (Main) Maximum of two times in consecutive years.

Therefore, candidates who appeared in JEE MAIN 2016 for the first time are eligible to appear in JEE MAIN 2017.
