As per press release by High Commission of India Colombo, Sri Lanka that Government of India to provide admission opportunities for meritorious Sri Lankan Students to the famous and prestigious IITs Indian Institute of Technology from 2017 onward.
The High Commission in Colombo reveals this decision; A team of faculty members from IITs will soon visit Sri Lanka to interact with students and parents of GCE Level A students, prefinal and final students of secondary education, Regarding IIT entrance examinations, about IITs life and future aspects and prospects.
The Press release also states that during visit information will be provided on JEE Joint Entrance Exam for aspirants of undergraduate Engineering Branches and Graduate Aptitude Test for Post Graduate Courses at IITs, for the Academic session 2017-18.
Joint Entrance Examination set to add United States centre for foreign applicants to IITs
Recently Indian Institute of Technology the exam conducting body for JEE Advanced announced new examination centers in foreign land along with India. ISM Dhanbad Finally IIT Dhanbad: The Indian School of Mines Dhanbadbe called as Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad with effect from 6t September 2016. Aicte approves 507 Engineering college progressive closure list
AICTE list of the approved progressive closed institution for the academic year 2019-2020. The list of approved colleges has been released by All India Council for Technical Education along with closure list. AICTE approves 778 colleges progressive closure application till now. Progressive Closure means Institute cannot admit the students for the first year during the Academic Year for which Progressive Closure is Granted, However the existing students will continue.

The AICTE approved colleges are spread across India. And All India Council for Technical Education is the only authority in India to approve and regulate technical education. Ans:Suppose a candidate passed the class 12th examination in 2017 and is appearing for improvement in 2023, candidates will have to do the following points –
The candidate will have to choose the year of passing class 12th as 2017 and will have to enter the roll number and name of the board in the first step of the application form.
In the second step, the candidate will have to select ‘yes’ for the column – appearing for improvement examination.
Alternate Answer:
Candidates can also choose the year of appearing in class 12th as 2023 and fill the remaining form as Mentioned.

Weightage of class 12 marks in JEE Main Official Cut Off Score
From the previous year onwards, NTA will not give any importance to class 12 marks while deriving JEE Main cut off score. No weightage will be given to 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in JEE Main. However, for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs are based on the JEE Advanced/JEE Main ranks. Also, the candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in the class 12 examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the class 12 examination.

All the students who score less than the cut-off rank will not be eligible for admission in any of the participating colleges and moreover also not qualify for JEE Advanced.
It has been observed on the basis of previous year records that cut off marks is decreasing with considerable amount every year. This may be due to increase in difficulty of question paper or due to change in exam pattern or may be due to any other factor. But the candidates should not think that cut off of next year will also decrease surely. There are many factors affecting cut off as discussed above. So the aspirants should work hard. Forgetting about cut off the students should give their best and surely they will achieve their goal.
JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020 consists of three papers Joint Entrance Exam Main Paper 1, Paper 2 and paper 3. So, Paper 1 is for B.E/B. Tech candidates, JEE Main Paper 2 is for assessment of B.Arch candidates and Paper 3 is for B.Planning. Also, the main subjects for Paper 1 are Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. Paper 2 has three sections Maths, Aptitude, and Drawing. Similarly, Paper 3 will have Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning based questions. As per the eligibility criteria for B.Arch and B.Planning courses and according to the opinion of Subject Experts, a few changes in the pattern of the question paper(s) and number of question(s) for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning have been approved by the JEE Apex Board (JAB) for the conduct of JEE (Main)-2020 Examination.

Answer: JEE (Main) – 2020 shall have three papers, Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.), Paper-2 (B. Arch.) and Paper 3(B.Planning). Candidates may take Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.), Paper-2 (B. The criteria for admissions of the candidates to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions Funded by Participating State Governments, and Other Institutions will include the performance of candidates in 10 + 2 or equivalent Qualifying Examination, and in JEE Main 2020 Examination.
Paper 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.) of JEE Main 2020 Examination will be the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced 2020, which the aspirants must take who are willing to take admissions in Undergraduate Engineering Programs at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Also, the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, and Odisha have joined the JEE Main System. So, the candidates willing to take admissions in the institutions located in these states need to appear for JEE Main 2020 Examination because there is no State Level Engineering Entrance Examination as it was before.
Mode of Examination: JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020
The mode of examination is announced by National Testing Agency in JEE Main Information Brochure.
Paper 1: There will be the only a single mode of JEE Main for Paper 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.), i.e., Online Mode (Computer Based Examination).
Paper 2: There will be two modes of JEE Main for Paper 2 (B. Arch.), i.e., Offline Mode (Pen and Paper Examination) and Online Mode (Computer Based Examination).
Paper 3: There will be the only a single mode of JEE Main for Paper 3 (B.Planning), i.e., Online Mode (Computer Based Examination).
The two different modes of examination, i.e., Offline Mode (Pen and Paper Examination) and Online Mode (Computer Based Examination) will be available for Paper 2 (B.Arch) of JEE Mains.
The candidates cannot use any type of electronic devices in the Examination. Study materials such as Book, Note Book, Log Table, etc. are not permissible inside the examination hall.

JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern:
The JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020 or paper pattern for both the papers is given below. Basically, the Joint Entrance Examination is conducted for three papers. Paper 1 is for B.Tech Aspirants, Paper 2 is for B.Arch aspirants and Paper 3 is for B.Plan aspirants.
Paper 1 Pattern: JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020 for Paper 1 will contain questions from the three subjects. Also, there will be a total of 75 Objective questions. Moreover, uniform weightage to all subjects is available. Further, a total of 25 questions will be asked about every subject.

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2020 shall have three papers, Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.), Paper-2 (B. Arch.) and Paper-3 (B.Plan.).

JEE Main 2020 Examination Venues
JEE Main 2020 will take place in major cities/towns of India as well as abroad. During the application, the applicants have the option to select four examination centre cities as per their preferences for Offline (Pen and Paper Based) Examination. But, the applicants will have the option to select just one examination centre city for Online (Computer Based) Examination.
If the number of candidates in a particular city is less than 50 on a particular date, then candidates will get the last day of the Online (Computer Based) Examination in the same city.
Also, full efforts will be made to give the examination city as per their preferences for Offline (Pen and Paper Based) Examination. But, under certain circumstances, the candidates may get some different city in the nearby area.
But, the requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained and the decision of the Executive Director (JAB) will be final in this regard.

Code of Conduct for Candidates During JEE Main 2020.
The candidates need to maintain perfect silence and attend their question paper only.
Any type of conversation/disturbance/gesture in Examination Hall will be considered as misbehaviour.
In case any candidate uses Un-Fair Means (UFM), then his / her candidature will be rejected and he/she will be debarred from taking the examination permanently / temporarily depending on the nature of candidate’s offence.
Any type of electronic devices or study materials is not permissible inside the Examination Hall.
If any candidates are possessing any such items, then he/she will be considered as using Un-Fair Means (UFM), his/her current examination will be cancelled, he/she will be debarred from future examination(s), and the equipment will be seized.
Removing any page from one’s test booklet will also come under Un-Fair Means (UFM) and he/she will be liable for criminal action.
JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020: The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) have dropped the weightage of class 12th board exams in Jee Mains 2020 rank.

Jee Main Paper 2 Pattern
Paper 2 will contain three sections: mathematics, aptitude and drawing test. And, this paper will comprise of 77 questions in total. 50 for the aptitude test, 2 questions for drawing test and 75 questions from Maths.

Paper 1 comprises of 75 questions in total; 25 each from Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
Also, Paper 2 includes 77 questions and Each Question will carry 4 marks for the right response. And 2 drawing questions contain 100 marks in total.
Also, Negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable to each incorrect answer in the OMR sheet.
Note: Under no circumstances, the choice of cities for Centre, Date, Shift and Paper (Paper-1 or Paper-2) provided in the Admit Card shall be changed.
