6 Important Tips for Candidates Appearing in JEE Main 2020 Exam Tomorrow

Points to keep in mind on the-Day:

#1 Time: Be careful enough to reach the Test Centre at least 30 min before the exam to keep yourself well- aware. Reaching the exam centre before time helps you to know the pre-exam instructions.

#2 Carry Admit Card with an extra photograph and Original ID proof: NTA has instructed to the candidates to carry the hard copy of their admit card with a passport size photograph (same as the one uploaded on the application form) with them. Along with, valid ID proof is a mandate for verification purposes. Carry any one of these – Aadhaar card/PAN card/Voter’s ID Card/Ration Card/Driving License/School Id card etc.

#3 Candidates appearing in Paper 2 can carry these items: All the JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 aspirants are allowed to carry geometry box, pencil, eraser, and colours (except for watercolours). Apart from these, there is no exception for paper 2 appearing candidates.

#4 Strict frisking process at the exam centres: Make sure you are not carrying any restricted items such as chit papers, electronic devices, smart watches, mobile phones, gadgets, calculators, stationery items etc. As strict frisking will be done by the instructors.

#5 Nationwide general strike on 08 and 09 January 2020:

A two-day nationwide strike has been called by the central trade union on 08 and 09 January 2020. There is no word of rescheduling of the JEE Main 2020 exam or the strike. The transport is said to remain affected on these days. Thus, the candidates are requested to arrange for their travel accordingly for the exam centres.

#6 JEE Main 2020 exam centres will have Jammers:  1 jammer will be installed for every 24 candidates at the JEE main 2020 exam centres. However, last year many complains were made on candidates using devices to cheat at the centres. Similarly, NTA has come up with this solution to dismiss the use of internet-based devices at the centres for cheating.

The next JEE Main 2020 exam will be held in the month of April 2020. National Testing Agency (NTA) is the newly formed body that is now responsible to conduct the JEE Main exam twice a year and in online mode only.

This paper was a bit easier than the last year set of questions. Though it was not that tricky but lengthy and more calculative than previous one. The inclination in the question paper was more towards 12th standard rather than 11th standard which in a way a plus point and advantage for the students as well. There was 19 question from 12th standard and just 11 questions are from 11th standard.000

Mathematics Paper

This paper was the toughest apart from all other subjects due to the calculation part and its lengthiness. Though a bit slackens from yesteryear because of the containment of easier formulae. The paper again was in favour of the student to score soaring marks as most of the questions were from 12th standard i.e 20 questions and just 10 questions from 11 Standard.

Overall the question paper was easier than the last year paper as most questions were from 12th standard.

Expected Cut off to get into desirable and August Institute

  • First of all the students’ rank should fall within top 2,20,000 to get into IITs after appearing into JEE Advanced 2019.
  • Second, this year cut off will fall around 105-110 approx. a bit higher than what last year cut off was as the reason dwell in the moderately tough and slacken set of questions asked.
  • Eventually, the rank will be based on the performance in the JEE Main Exam. And weightage for the same will be 60% and 40% weightage for the performance in the 12th Board. So here, marks acquired in board examination will get utter priority and proclivity will go in that direction only.
