There is a large number of colleges running their courses without taking approval from AICTE – All India Council for Technical Education. The AICTE released the list of Unapproved Engineering & Technology Colleges.
The All India Council for Technical Education was formed in 1945 by the Government of India. Whereas the Act came into power on March 28, 1988. The statutory body All India Council for Technical Education was officially announced on May 12, 1988, with a vision of thorough planning and harmonised development of the technical education system in India.

Unapproved Engineering & Technology Colleges
As per directions, No institution shall offer Technical course or program without approval of the Technical Council. but still, many colleges starts running unapproved courses and sometimes the whole of the college is unapproved.
