BRO Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) recruits eligible candidates for various posts through the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF). The recruitment process for the GREF is conducted by the Army Service Corps (ASC).

BRO GREF Selection Process
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) GREF selection process is a two-stage process.
Stage One: Basic Eligibility Screening
All applicants must meet the basic eligibility criteria for the position of GREF Laborer, which includes being a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan; being between 18 and 25 years of age; having completed 10th standard or equivalent; and being physically fit.
In addition, applicants must also pass a written test and an interview conducted by the BRO. The written test consists of multiple-choice questions on general awareness, mathematics and reasoning. The interview assesses the applicant’s suitability for the position of GREF Laborer.
Stage Two: Trade Test/Skill Test
Those who pass the written test and interview in Stage One will be required to take a trade test or skill test, depending on the trade they have applied for. The trade tests are conducted to assess the applicant’s technical skills and knowledge in the relevant trade. Some of the trades for which trade tests are conducted include Carpenter, Electrician, Mason, Painter and Welder. Those who pass the trade tests will be placed on a merit list according to their score in Stage One of the selection process.
