JIPMER Undergraduate Admission 2020
JIPMER offers admission in MBBS and BSc programme at UG level. Admission in MBBS programme is done based on NEET UG exam. Admission in BSc programme is based on JIPMER BSc entrance exam. Candidates who secured more marks than required cutoff can apply for MCC counselling where shortlisted candidates have to select JIPMER Pondicherry as their choice of the institute.

JIPMER Selection Criteria
Candidates with marks more than or equal to the defined cutoff will have their names in the merit list. Medical Counselling Committee will release the Merit List based on ranks secured by applicants in the admission Test. MCC will declare the Merit list in online mode. Candidates who got selected for the JIPMER UG program have to report at the JIPMER and complete the further admission procedures.
If two or more candidates secured equal marks, then following tie-breaker will be used by the university for shortlisting candidates:
- Higher Percentile in Biology
- Higher Percentile in Chemistry
- Higher Percentile in Physics
- Higher Percentile in the English Language
- Higher Percentile in Logical & Quantitative Reasoning
- Seniority by age
The candidates will be called for counselling based on his/her ranks in the merit list. Applicants who will accept the seat, have to pay the admission fees and then participate in the documents verification process conducted by university authorities.

JIPMER PhD Admission 2020

The Selection for PhD course is purely based on the Written Examination followed by an interaction with the PhD Admission Committee.

- Part A: Aptitude related objective questions from English (Written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, and Research Methodology.
- Part B: Subject related theory-based MCQs of MBBS/MD/MS/MDS/M.Sc. Entrance level.

Shortlisted candidates have to interact with PhD admission committee in order to assess his/her aptitude, attitude, area of interest and feasibility to carry out the work at the specific department in JIPMER.
