SCTIMST Trivandrum Selection Process 2020
Selection is based on the marks obtained in the entrance qualifying examination and accordingly, the merit list will be generated for the allotment of seats in the desired course.
Distribution of Marks for Selection:
- 1.5 marks for a pass in the MBBS examination in the first attempt.
- 1.5 marks for a pass in the MD/MS/DNB examination in the first attempt
- 1 mark for the gold medal in MBBS
- 1 mark for the gold medal in MD/MS/DNB
- 40 marks for Theory (Written) Entrance Examination
- 40 marks for Departmental Clinical/Practical and Viva Voce
- 15 marks for the Final Interview
Note: Examination is common for both DM and PDCC courses in the same specialty.
Exam Pattern
- Theory examination of 90 minutes duration which will carry 100 multiple-choice questions.
2. For DM Neurology the entrance paper for Medicine and Psychiatry stream will be common with 50 General Medicine and 50 Neurology questions.
**The minimum pass marks in Theory Examination is 50%

Points to Remember while Filling Application form for Post Doctoral courses:
1.Common application form for both DM and PDCC (DM Cardiothoracic & Vascular Anaesthesia specialty or for Neuroanaesthesia specialty) programs. Multiple submissions are not allowed.
2. The candidate has three options to apply:
- To apply only for DM programs
- To apply for both DM and PDCC programs with the aim of joining either of them whichever would be available to him/her based upon ranking in the final examination
- To apply only for PDCC
