Institute Of Distance Education University Of Madras is a public university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. IDEUNOM came int exsistense in the year 1981. IDE offers 15 disciples in Undergraduate courses, 20 disciplines in postgraduation courses. 16 disciplines in Diploma courses and 12 certificate courses. Admission in the university is made throughout the year in two streams i.e Academic year and Calendar Year.

Three years (6 Semesters) programme is offered both in Academic and Calendar year cycle of admissions. Each course has been divided into two semesters(per year). Academic year stream i.e. June to November and December to May. Calendar year stream (i.e.) January to June and July to December.
