Assam TET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
The age limit and educational qualifications required to fill out the Assam TET for Higher Secondary Level are among the eligibility criteria. TET is a qualification exam held in Assam for the recruitment of teachers in the 11th and 12th grades.
TET Age Limit in Assam
- The candidate's age must not be less than 21 years old. The higher and lower age limits will apply at the time of appointment in Government/Private Schools, according to the Government rules/act in effect at the time.
- The candidates' age limit will be determined using their School Leaving Certificate/HSLC Admit Card/ Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council.

Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V):
(a) Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (by whatever name is known) OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Education (B.El.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (by whatever name is known) (Special Education)
Graduation and a two-year Diploma in elementary education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in grades I to V, provided that the person so appointed must complete a six-month Bridge Course in education recognized by NCTE.
(b) Anyone pursuing any of the teacher education courses (approved by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) listed in the NCTE Guideline of February 11, 2011, is eligible to apply for TET. However, he can only apply for a position after obtaining all of the required requirements.
Remark: Candidates admitted to the D.El.Ed programme prior to August 31, 2009, should refer to Clause B under the subheading Relaxation.
Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII):
(a) Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Education (under any name) OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Education (B. El. Ed). OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. OR B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR Graduation with at least 50% grades and a 1-year B. Ed (Special Education)
(b) Anyone pursuing any of the teacher education courses (approved by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) listed in the NCTE Guideline of February 11, 2011, is eligible to apply for TET. However, he can only apply for a position after obtaining all of the required requirements.
Remark: Candidates admitted to the 1-Year B.Ed. programme before August 31, 2009, should refer to Clause C under the title Relaxation.
Postgraduate Teachers in Secondary/Senior Secondary Schools: Eligibility Requirements:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate's age should not exceed 38 years. For SC/ST applicants, the upper age restriction is relaxed by 5 years.
- Age relaxation is granted in accordance with the applicable government Office Memorandum.
- A minimum of fifty percent in a Masters Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university with BT/B.Ed is required.
Assam TET 2022 Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teachers Education certified institution and a post-graduate degree with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognised university
- Please note that degrees received from off-campus or online learning institutions are not valid.
- Please note that B.Ed. degrees from off-campus centres or unaccredited colleges/universities will not be accepted.
