ATMA 2020 – Important Dates, Application Form, Admit Card, Eligibility

ATMA 2020 (AIMS TEST FOR MANAGEMENT ADMISSIONS) is a National Level Exam and will be conducted by AIMS (Association of Indian Management Schools) to offer admissions in courses such as MBA, PGDM, MCA, PGDBA courses. It is a Computer-based Test which is accepted by 200 MBA Colleges in India. This exam is conducted five times in a year - January, February, May, June and August to check the aptitude of the candidates and to offer them higher chances for MBA admissions in colleges. The question is set with a moderate level of difficulty consisting of 180 questions.

AIMS has released the tentative dates and the necessary information.  The Application Form of ATMA 2020 will be made available from the first week of December 2019. So here is a glimpse of all the information required to the candidates for appearing for the ATMA 2020.

ATMA 2020 Application Form

Candidates must refer to the below points carefully to know all the essential information related to ATMA 2020 application form:

  • ATMA 2020 Application Form will be released on the official website of AIMS in the first week of December 2019 and will get closed by the second week of January 2020 by the AIMS.
  • The application process involves various steps such as – Registration, filling the application form, uploading of documents and making the fee payment.
  • Students must take a print out of the filled form for keeping it with them carefully.
  • Students are required to apply separately for different exam sessions.
  • Candidates must log in by entering a valid email id and mobile number.
  • Candidates can choose their two most preferred test centers at the time of registration.
  • Candidates have to upload their photograph and signature in JPG format. Candidates must ensure that the uploaded photo and signature are not blurred.
  • Students can also purchase application forms offline from various designated centers of ATMA.

Application Fees:

  • The Application fee for ATMA 2020 can be paid through both Online and Offline mode. Once the Application form is filled and submitted, the candidates can pay the Application fee. The Application process would be considered complete only after the payment is made.
  • The Application Fee is Rs.1100 + 18% GST i.e. Total = Rs.1298.
  • Candidates can either use Credit Card or Debit Card to make the payments or it can be paid via net Banking. After paying the amount, the candidate is required to take a print out of it for future reference.
  • Application fee once paid will be non-refundable and non-transferable to other tests under any circumstances.

ATMA 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate who wishes to apply for ATMA 2020 should be a citizen of India. NRI/ Foreigner candidates are not eligible for the exam.
  • The Candidate must have passed graduation or equivalent examination from any recognized university. Candidates who are in their final year of Graduation can also apply for ATMA 2020 exam.
  • Candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks in graduation or in the equivalent examination. 
  • The eligibility criteria shall not include work experience. Both working and non-working candidates can apply for the exam.
  • Age limit - There is no age limit mentioned for appearing in ATMA exam. 
  • AIMS conducts this Exam 5 times a year and a candidate can attempt any number of times. The latest score of ATMA exam will be considered valid for admission.
  • Qualifying Marks - Qualifying marks for ATMA 2020 are minimum 50% in Graduation for the candidates belonging to General Category and 45% for candidates belonging SC/ST/PWD criteria.
  • ATMA 2020 Reservation criteriaATMA does not provide any reserved seats for the Reserved category candidates besides offering relaxation in minimum qualifying marks. There is an application fee concession for Women and candidates belonging to 7 North-Eastern states. 25% concession is applicable for women candidates while concession for candidates from the North-Eastern states is 50%.

ATMA 2020 Admit Card

  • ATMA 2020 Admit Card is the essential document for candidates to appear in the ATMA Exam, which the aspirants must always have with them.
  • ATMA 2020 Admit Card shall only be allotted to the candidates who shall complete the application procedure along with the fee payment on time. The application procedure is considered complete only after the payment of Application fee.
  • The students shall have to log in to the official website to download the admit card. They shall log in by entering the exam date, PID and the password which they got at the time of the registration. 
  • Admit Card has to be downloaded within the deadline as mentioned in the official brochure.
  • After downloading the admit card, candidates must paste their photograph on the admit card which should be the similar one that was uploaded in the application form.

ATMA 2020 Syllabus

In order to study for the ATMA exam, the candidates need to follow this syllabus pattern given below –

Analytical Reasoning Skills (For Part 1 and 2)

Part 1- Candidates must possess Analytical skills to be able to analyze the situation better and come up with appropriate answers. It will include topics from Reasoning, Course of Actions, Strong/weak Arguments, etc.

 For part 2 - The questions will be from Coding-Decoding, Arguments, Arrangements; Syllogism in this section.

Topics like Analytical Reasoning, Linear Arrangements, Statements Arguments, Sequencing, Matrix Arrangements, Number Series, Analogy Test, Blood Relationship Tests, Coding and Decoding, Inferences, Statements and Conclusion, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Symbol Based Problems, Direction and Distance Test, Ranking Tests, Statements Assumptions would be included.

Verbal Skills ( PART 1 AND 2): Candidates must have clarity on the usage of English language, vocabulary, grammar. It will include Passage comprehension, Grammar, etc.

 For part 2 - questions will be more on Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.

Topics like Vocabulary, Para Jumble, Paragraph Completion, One- word Substitution, Synonyms & Antonyms, Reading Comprehension would be included.

Quantitative Skills ( Part 1 and 2): Candidates should have clarity on solving Mathematics & Numerical problems. Questions from Arithmetic, Algebra and Modern Maths will be in this section.

 For part 2 – questions will be from Data Interpretation, Modern Maths & Geometry in this section.

Topics like Number Systems, Ratio & Proportion, Speed Time & Distance, Time & Work, Profit Loss, Percentages, Pipes & Cistern, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Quadratic & Linear Equation, Line graph, Pie Chart, Bar Graph, Partnership would be included.

ATMA 2020 Results

ATMA 2020 Result shall be announced a few days after the exam which is in the fourth week of January 2020. It will be announced on the official website of AIMS.

Steps to check the Results –

  1. Visit the official website of AIMS and click on the link provided there. 
  2. Proceed and check for the ‘ATMA 2020 Result’ Section.
  3. Fill all the Login details and also, enter the exam date, PID and Password to check the results. It will be in the form of a scorecard.
  4. The Result of ATMA 2020 will be displayed online. Take a printout of it for future reference.
  • Check that the scorecard of ATMA 2020 contains various details such as Name, Roll Number, Percentile in different sections and other relevant details. 
  • After the declaration of Results, the student shall have to apply to different colleges for further processes through this scorecard. The processes which are generally conducted include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion(GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

ATMA 2020 Counselling

After the Result gets declared, the university will release the merit list and announce the name of the candidates who will be eligible for the Counseling session. On the basis of Merit List, the eligible students might be called for further processes which includes:

  • Written Ability Test (WAT)
  • Group Discussion (GD)
  • Personal Interview(PI)

It is necessary for the candidates to report to the allocated location with necessary documents and certificates, failing to which the seat will be allotted to the waiting list candidate. On the basis of the three rounds mentioned above, the managerial skills of the candidate shall be tested. Managerial skills are basically the ability of an individual to handle the pressure, knowledge of the happenings around the world and other such details. On this basis, the student shall be selected to be offered admission in colleges.

ATMA 2020 Preparation Tips

  1. Candidates are advised to cover the topics that are mention above in the “ATMA 2020 Syllabus” Section and make short notes for the revision.
  2. Candidates can go through the mock test available and also solve previous year question papers online number of times to understand the pattern of the exam and to be thorough with it.
  3. Candidates can also prepare with the help of attempting test series available in the market and advised to go through last year's papers.
  4. Candidates can go through English newspapers for improving their vocabulary and reading speed for comprehension section.
  5. Candidates should be able to manage their time wisely in order to not get exhausted during their study time. A proper schedule should be made and followed.
