CA CPT Eligibility Criteria 2022: The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is an introductory exam for Chartered Accountancy students. The CA CPT Exam attracts lakhs of candidates from all across India because it is a national level exam. The Institute of Chartered Accountants organises it. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics, and Quantitative Aptitude are the four disciplines included on the test, and they are used to assess basic understanding in these areas. Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test can be taken by anyone who has completed Class X or equivalent. After passing Class XII or equivalent, a candidate is eligible for the CA CPT Examination.
CA CPT Eligibility Criteria 2022
The following are the CPT qualifying criteria for December 2022. Before applying for the CPT 2022 exam, candidates must ensure that they meet the CPT eligibility requirements. The conducting body will cancel the candidates' candidature if they do not meet the CPT eligibility standards.
Criteria | Description |
Qualification | The applicants must have passed or appeared in the Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination conducted by an examining body constituted by the law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto. |
Registration | The applicant must have registered for/ switched over to Common Proficiency Course with the Board of Studies of ICAI on or before 30th June 2022. |
Revalidation | The applicant must have revalidated their registration to Common Proficiency Course (as applicable). |
Validity | As decided by the Council, the registration is valid for a period of 3 years and the student is required to revalidate the same from the concerned Regional Office on expiry of the said period. |
Registration Number | The student must have a valid registration number on the date of application to the examination. Thereby, they must ensure that their registration for the Common Proficiency Course on the date of filling examination CPT 2022 application form is valid. |
Age Limit | There is no limit for the CPT exam eligibility age. |
CA CPT Exemption from Appearing in CA Foundation
Minimum Marks: Candidates who have graduated or completed post-graduation in Commerce with a minimum aggregate of 55 percent of total marks or its equivalent grade in any recognised university (including Open University) examination are excused from taking the CPT.
Exemption: Graduates or postgraduates other than those in the Commerce stream who have received a minimum of 60% of total marks or equivalent grade in a recognised institute's examination are exempt from taking the CPT (including Open University).
CA CPT Eligibility Documents
Applicants must have certain documentation to apply for the CPT exam, according to the CPT eligibility rules. The following is a list of the documents that must be submitted for CA CPT 2022.
- Payment for the registration costs was paid through the demand draft.
- A Chartered Accountant or a Gazetted Officer must certify the class 10 pass certificate.
- If the date of birth is not indicated on the class 10 marks certificate, an attested copy of the birth certificate will be required.
- A certified copy of your class 12 diploma.
a certified copy of their nationality certificate for international students - SC/ST, OBC, and Disabled applicants must show proof of special category certification.
