UPSC CSE Result 2022: Prelims & Mains Result, Cutoff, Merit List with Names

UPSC CSE Result 2022 (preliminary exam) will be declared tentatively in October 2022 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The result is available in pdf file. IAS result is declared in the form of a merit list. Candidates can download the merit list directly to check their respective results. Roll numbers of candidates who secured the minimum qualifying marks (cutoff) will be on the merit list. After the preliminary examination, candidates are called for the main examination. UPSC CSE Result 2022

UPSC has declared the Civil Services Prelims Result 2022 on the official website. The result is released in the form of a merit list containing the roll numbers of the selected candidates. Now, the selected candidates will have to undergo a personality test to be held after the declaration of the result.

How to download CSE Result 2022?

The result for IAS 2022 is declared on the official website of UPSC. To download the result, candidates are advised to follow the steps mentioned below.
  • Step 1: Visit the official UPSC website.
  • Step 2: Click on the ‘written examination’ link present in the middle of the page.
  • Step 3: The result for IAS will be on the top of the list. Download the result by clicking on the link provided on the right.
  • Step 4:After downloading, search for your roll number with the help of the search feature.

CSE 2022 Selection Procedure

The selection for IAS is done in three stages which are:

  1. Preliminary examination – Candidates have to secure a minimum of 33% marks in the preliminary examination to qualify for the main examination.
  2. The main examination – The main examination is conducted in a descriptive format. There are 09 papers in UPSC civil services main examination. For each paper, the candidate is provided with 03 hours.
  3. Interview round – After qualifying for the main examination, an interview round is conducted. An interview or personality round is conducted to test the knowledge and caliber of the applicant.

CSE 2022 Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates have scored the same marks in IAS 2022 exam, then the tie is resolved on the basis of principles approved and prescribed by the Commission, which are:

  • Candidates scoring more marks in Personality Test and Compulsory Test are summed up and then the rank is calculated.
  • If in case, the marks of both compulsory and personality tests are the same as the candidate then the rank is given to the candidate who is elder in age.
  • Just in case if above-mentioned criteria are also the same, then the higher rank is set on the basis of the marks candidate has secured in compulsory papers.

About CSE (IAS)

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). IAS exam is conducted for the selection of one of the three arms of All India Services. To apply for IAS, candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
