GAT-B exam will be conducted on May 13, 2023, and the results will be declared on June 10, 2023. Counselling will be held from June 20 to July 10, 2023. Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology 2023 exam will be conducted by NTA for admission in various DBT-supported PG programs in Biotechnology and allied areas. This exam is conducted at the national level annually. The 34 participating universities offer a total of 1221 seats in 62 PG to candidates through GAT-B 2023. Interested candidates must check eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. Earlier, the GAT-B was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and was called the Combined Entrance Examination for Biotechnology or CEEB. Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology Stipend 2023

Once the candidates will take admission in any course successfully, he/she will be admitted in DBT-supported programmes are will be given a stipend as per the different programmes. Given below are the course by stipend for qualified candidates:

  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology & Allied Areas - Rs. 5000 per month
  • M.Sc. in Agricultural Biotechnology - Rs. 7500 per month
  • M.Tech./M.V.Sc. programmes - Rs. 12000 per month

However, on the basis of the candidate's performance in the institute, they are studying, he/she will get the stipend in the second year of their study.

GAT-B 2023 Application Form

NTA the exam conducting authority will release the GAT B application form 2023 in March 2023 (tentatively) in online mode. All the candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam if any point seems to be missed that he/she must not fill the form. Before filling out the application form for the exam, you must keep the following documents ready in order to avoid any process during the registration.

  • Valid Email ID and mobile number
  • Scanned passport size photograph/signature in jpg/ jpeg format (Maximum 80 Kb size)

For successful registration, candidates need to apply the following steps properly:

Step 1: Registration
  • Visit the official website of conducting authority, i.e. rcb.res.in, and click on the “New Registration” link.
  • You need to enter your name, email ID, date of birth, and mobile number for registration
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
  • After registration, click on the “Already Registered” button and log in using the User ID and password obtained during registration.
  • Go through all the on-screen instructions carefully and then click on the declaration button
  • Enter all the asked personal details, such as your name, gender, category, marital status, address, etc.
  • You need to enter your qualification details, such as date of passing the exams, marks secured, university name, etc.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
  • In this step, you need to upload all the asked documents in the prescribed format and size.

GAT-B 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who need to appear in GAT-B test 2023 must fulfil all the eligibility criteria as per Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB). If any candidate fails to fulfil the eligibility criteria, then his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled at any stage of the exam or he/she cannot appear in the further admission process. Reserved category candidates (SC/ST) must have secured at least 2.20 on a 4.00 scale, 5.60 on a 10.00 scale, and 50% marks.
M.Tech BiotechnologyCandidates must have passed B.Tech/BE degree in the relevant stream with the minimum marks set by the participating university.
M.Sc. Allied Areas/Agricultural BiotechnologyApplicants with BSc. in the respective stream with the minimum marks as per the participating university.
