IMU CET 2023 Eligibility Criteria is set by the conducting authority. This exam is conducted by Indian Maritime University. This is a university-level exam held annually. The candidates who will score the cut off marks and hence qualify this test in Marine engineering field will get admission in any of the five campuses situated in Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam and Cochin. The candidate will only be able to fill the application form only if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. IMU CET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the IMU CET 2023 examination must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. If candidates found ineligible at any time, their candidature will be cancelled by the Indian Maritime University. Applicant must go through the given below details of IMU CET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
For UG Programs
For B.Sc (Nautical Science):
Academic Qualification: Candidate must have cleared his/her 10+2 level exams or its equivalent from a recognized board/university.
Qualifying subjects: Applicant must have cleared his 10+2 level exams with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English as compulsory subjects.
Qualifying marks: Aspirants must have scored with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in PCM and a minimum of 50% in English subject in class 10+2.
For ST/SC, 5% relaxation in eligibility marks (No relaxation in English subject).
For B.Tech:
Academic Qualification: Candidate must have cleared his/her 10+2 level exams or its equivalent from any recognized board.
Qualifying subjects: Applicant should have cleared his 10+2 level exams with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English as compulsory subjects.
Qualifying marks: Candidate in his/her 10+2 level exams must have passed with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in PCM and a minimum of 50% in English.
For ST/SC there will be a relaxation of 5% in eligibility marks (No relaxation in English subject).
For PG Programmes
For M.Tech (Marine engineering and management):
Academic Qualification: Candidate must hold a B.Tech/BE degree from a recognized University.
Qualifying subjects: Candidate must have passed his degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering/Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture.
Qualifying marks: Applicant must have passed his B.Tech/BE degree with at least 60% marks.
- For ST/SC there will be a relaxation of 5% in eligibility marks.
OR
- Applying candidate must be an associate member of the Institution of Engineers Part A and B in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
OR
- MEO Class, I Certificate of Competency.
- Candidates can also apply for admission on the basis of GRE/GATE scores.
For PG Diploma in Marine Engineering
Qualifying exam: Candidate must hold a degree in Mechanical and automation engineering/Mechanical engineering/naval engineering from an institute approved under the IITs or AICTE.
Qualifying subjects: Also applicant having a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from IMU can also apply for the exam.
Qualifying marks: Aspirant has to fulfil the requirements of DG shipping i.e. 50% minimum marks in final year and at least 50% marks in English in 10+2 level.
Age Criteria:
Candidate must be a minimum of 17 years and maximum of 25 years as on 17th July 2020.
- ST/SC candidates have 5 years of relaxation in maximum age.
Physical Fitness:
Candidate must have good physical fitness in order to give IMU CET 2022 entrance exam.
- Applying candidate must have a good vision i.e 6/6 (normal) in each eye separately.
- Candidates applying for B.Tech (Marine Engineering) should be of the unaided vision 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in another eye.
- Applying applicant must meet all the medical requirements and be medically fit as per the DGS guidelines.
