NIT Meghalaya Admission 2023 application window will open for B.Tech program. The candidates need to have JEE Main, GATE, JAM, /NET/Written Examination scorecard. The exam which would be considered for admission in NIT Meghalaya will depend on the program for which the candidate is applying. The admission dates for different programs will be different. NIT Meghalaya Admission 2023 Application Form

The candidate makes sure about all the listed instructions before applying for the NIT Meghalaya 2023 application form, which is given below:

  • Candidates have to visit the NIT Meghalaya official website.
  • Please select the link, of course, as per their interests.
  • Pay Application Fees by online mode via HDFC & Online SBI collect.
  • Fill in all the details correctly in the Application Form.

NIT Meghalaya Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates can check NIT Meghalaya admission 2023 eligibility below:

For B.tech

Candidate must pass 10+2 level for the authorized board with a minimum of 75% marks.

For M.Sc.
  1. M. Sc. Mathematics and Computing: B.Sc.(10+2+3)/BS degree (Major/Honours) in Mathematics, with a minimum of 55% marks or 6.0 CPI on a 10-point scale (50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10- point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates) in major/honours only.
    OR
    Candidates having B.Sc.(10+2+3) degree without (Major/Honours) in Mathematics must have the concerned degree with Mathematics as a subject for two years/four semesters and (b) a minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for General/OBC category candidates and a minimum 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale (for SC/ST/PD category candidates.
  2. M. Sc. Physics: B.Sc.(10+2+3)/BS degree (Major/Honours) in Physics with Mathematics for at least two years/four semesters, with a minimum of 55% marks or 6.0 CPI on a 10-point scale (50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates) in major/honors only.
    OR
    Candidates having B.Sc.(10+2+3)/BS degree without (Major/Honours) in Physics with Mathematics for at least two years/four semesters, must have the concerned degree with
    1. Physics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters and 
    2. a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for General/OBC category candidates and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CPI on a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD category candidates.
  3. M. Sc. Chemistry: B.Sc.(10+2+3)/BS degree (Major/Honours) in Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics for at least two years/four semesters, with a minimum of 55% marks or 6.0 CPI on a 10- point scale (50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates in major/honors only.
    OR
    Candidates having B.Sc.(10+2+3)/BS degree without (Major/Honours) in Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics for at least two years/four semesters, must have the concerned degree with
    1. Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters and Mathematics and Physics for at least two years/four
      semesters and 
    2. a minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for General/OBC category candidates and a minimum 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD category candidates.
For M.tech

 At least 60% marks (6.5 CGPA) in (last qualifying degree examination); relaxation of 5% marks / 0.5 CGPA is applicable for SC/ST candidates. If the last qualifying examination results are not published yet, the qualifying marks are applicable till the last semester.

For PhD
  1. Engineering and Technology: Master Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute.
    Or
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or MSc/MCA (wherever applicable) in related areas with an excellent academic record, with a CPI equivalent to 70% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute with valid GATE score.
  2. Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics): Master Degree in Science in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the university/Institute.

NIT Meghalaya Admission 2023 Counselling

While NIT Meghalaya Admission 2023 Counselling process, candidates must carry the following documents in the admission process.

Documents Required For B.tech Admission
  • Three nos of Passport size photographs.
  • JoSAA/CSAB Document Verification cum Seat Acceptance Letter and Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (after reporting).
  • Payment Receipts from JoSAA/CSAB (for the amount paid to JoSAA/CSAB).
  • Balance Payment Receipt from students if applicable (check payment procedure below).
  • JEE Score Card (one set self-attested copy).
  • All Educational Mark Sheets and Certificates (Original & one set self-attested copy).
  • Caste Certificate (original & one set self-attested copy).
  • For OBC, Certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2019.
  • For PwD candidates, the PwD certificate as per JoSAA/CSAB format will be considered.
  • DOB Proof (Original & one set self-attested copy).
  • Income Declaration to be submitted during admission.
Documents Required For N.tech Admission
  • Three nos of Passport size photographs.
  • Top sheet to be filled and signed.
  • Physical Reporting at participating Institute Slip (will be provided to the candidate)
  • Provisional Admission Letter (PAL) (Original & one set self-attested copy).
  • CCMT Document Verification Certificate (DVC)
  • Payment Receipts from CCMT (for the amount paid to CCMT).
  • Balance Payment Receipt from students if applicable (check Payment Process).
  • Gate Score Card (Original & one set self-attested copy.
  • All Educational Mark sheets and Certificates (Original & one set self-attested copy).
  • For Provisional Admissions, Course Completion Certificate issued by the Institute is a must if the final semester grade sheet is not yet issued.
  • In case the result of the qualifying degree is awaited, provisional admission will be permitted to an eligible student subject to all the academic grade sheets to be submitted by September 15, 2019.
  • The Institute reserves the right to cancel a selected student's admission in non-fulfillment eligibility criteria or furnishing of false documents.

NIT Meghalaya Admission 2023 Selection Process

The seats will be allotted to the candidates in B.Tech programs based on the counseling conducted by JoSSA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). For admission in the M.Tech program, the candidates will be allotted seats based on the counseling conducted by CCMT (a centralized counseling process). For M.Sc programs, the seats will be allotted based on the counseling conducted by CCMN (a national level counseling process). Whereas, for the Ph.D. course, the candidates' admission will depend on their performance in the written test and personal interview.
