Odisha Polytechnic Admission 2023 Merit List

The authority will release the separate merit list for all applicants based on marks secured by a candidate in the qualifying examination for Odisha Polytechnic admission. Check the details below:

• S-Domicile - “General Merit List” for all candidates.
• Z- Domicile-  A separate merit list will be released for candidates applying from outside Odisha.
• L- Domicile - Separate merit list for admission to 1st-semester Engineering/ Non-Engineering courses will be drawn for L candidates for admission to seats reserved for them. However, they will also be included in the merit list of Z candidates.

Odisha Polytechnic Admission 2023 Inter-Se-Merit

If two or more then two candidates secures equal marks in the qualifying examination then the following tie-breaking rules will be applied for Odisha Polytechnic admission 2023:

• The candidates with a higher percentage of marks in Mathematics will be placed at a higher rank.
• If the ties persist, the candidates having a higher percentage of marks in Science will be placed at a higher rank.
• If the above criteria fail then the candidates having a higher percentage of marks in English will be placed at a higher rank.
• Lastly, if all the above fails then the senior in age will be placed at a higher rank.

• An applicant with higher marks in English will be given a priority for admission.
• If ties will persist, then the senior one will be given a higher rank.

• For 02 years ITI passed candidates:
  1. Applicants having same marks in the qualifying exam, the candidate having more marks in Trade Theory will be placed at a higher rank.
  2. If the above criteria fail, the senior in age will be placed at a higher rank. 
• For (+2) Vocational (2 years) in Engineering Trade passed candidates:
  1. The candidate who will have more marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Basic Science Foundation Course will be placed at a higher rank.
  2. If the above criteria fail then the senior one will be given priority.
• For (+2) Science with PCM passed candidates:
  1. The candidate higher marks in Physics will be placed at a higher rank. 
  2. A candidate with more marks in Chemistry will be considered for admission.
  3. Applicant securing higher percentage of marks in Mathematics will be placed at a higher rank.
  4. If all the above fails then senior one will be given higher rank then the younger ones.

The claim of admission will be rejected, if the required information is not validated online or offline and submit the certificates, mark sheets, other necessary documents at the time of document verification. To get admitted in any of the Engineering Schools/ Polytechnics under State Domicile, a candidate has to satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

• The candidate must have H.S.C/ 10th examination certificate from any of the recognized institution in the State.
• Parents of the applying candidate must be a permanent resident of Odisha. 
• Sons/ daughters/ spouse of the permanent employees of the Government of Odisha/ Government of Odisha undertakings/Government of India/ Government of India undertaking serving in the State of Odisha are also included under this category. 
• The reservation facility will be made available to the children/wards of All India Civil Service Officers serving in the State except ST, SC and SEBC categories.

Applicants must note that who does not satisfy any ‘S’ Domicile criteria will be treated as outside State Candidate (Z).

• 15% of seats will be reserved for ‘Z’ candidates in the 1st Semester of Private Polytechnics /Engineering Schools only.
• For Lateral entry admission, one should have prosecuted their study for the qualifying examination in an institute having approval from the competent authority after exhaustion of state merit list.
• ‘Z’ candidates have to submit a Residential Certificate from the competent authority of their State

• 0.5% seats are reserved for Odias living in the outlying Odia speaking tracts in 1st Semester/ year only.

After the publication of merit list those who will qualify the admission requirements will be called for counselling on scheduled date and time.
