Selection Procedure:
Stage 1- Preliminary Examination:
The first stage of the UPPSC Exam is the Preliminary Examination. There are 2 examinations conducted in this stage which are qualifying in nature. The types of questions in the paper are objective in nature.
Stage 2- Mains Examination:
The second stage of the UPPSC exam is the Mains Examination. Only those candidates who clear the preliminary stage are eligible to appear for the mains examination. There are 8 papers in total which are of descriptive (theory) type.

UPPSC Mains Syllabus 2023
The UPPSC Main Paper II will be of 3 sections in the question paper of Candidates/ Aspirants will have to select “Essay”, one topic from each section and they are required to write an essay in 700 words on each topic/ subject. About UPPSC 2023
The commission is regulated by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulation, 1976. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission came into existence from 1 April 1937 with its headquarters in Allahabad. Furthermore, the formation of the Public Service Commissions at the provincial level was done under the Government of India Act, 1935, for the first time.
