WB TET 2023 Highlights

West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WBTET) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) to recruit teachers for Primary and Upper Primary levels in various government and private schools across West Bengal. Here are the important points related to WBTET:

1. Eligibility Criteria: To appear for the WBTET exam, the candidate must be a citizen of India and have a minimum educational qualification of Higher Secondary (12th pass) with at least 50% marks. Additionally, candidates must have completed or be pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree.
2. Exam Pattern: The WBTET exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for candidates aspiring to teach in the Primary level (classes 1 to 5) and Paper II is for candidates aspiring to teach in the Upper Primary level (classes 6 to 8). Both papers have a duration of 2.5 hours and consist of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) with no negative marking.
3. Syllabus: The WBTET syllabus includes topics such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies for Paper I. For Paper II, the syllabus includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies, depending on the subject chosen by the candidate.
4. Application Process: Candidates can apply for the WBTET exam online through the official website of WBBPE. The application fee for the exam is Rs. 100 for General and OBC candidates, and Rs. 50 for SC/ST/PH candidates.
5. Admit Card: The WBTET admit card is released on the official website of WBBPE a few weeks before the exam. Candidates need to download and print the admit card and bring it to the exam center along with a valid photo ID proof.
6. Result and Certificate: After the WBTET exam is conducted, the result is declared on the official website. Candidates who pass the exam are awarded a certificate of eligibility which is valid for 7 years from the date of issue. This certificate makes the candidate eligible to apply for teacher vacancies in government and private schools in West Bengal.

How to Apply for WB TET 2023?

• Initially, the candidates must visit the official website of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, wbbpe.org. 
• In the Notifications section, you can check the link for New User registration. Complete the registration process by entering all the details.
• Now, log in using the user ID and password. Click on the submit button and the application form portal will open on the screen.
• In the next step, candidates can start filling in all the mandatory details in the application form.
• Further, the applicants have to attach the photo and signature. Also, you have to upload the scanned copies of the certificates/ documents, in case if required.
• After entering all the details, preview the application form.
• Then, the candidates must click on the link to pay the application fees. The mode of the payment of fees is through online Debit/ Credit/ Net Banking or other UPI methods.
• Finally, click on the Submit application form button. Your application form gets submitted. 
• Candidates must take one or two copies of the application form for any future references.

WB TET 2023 Admit Card

• The hall ticket of WB TET will be available in online mode only.
• No admit card shall be sent through email or post.
• Admit card contains the exam date, day, centre of the exam, important instructions. Verify all the details after downloading the admit card.
• No candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall without a printed copy of the hall ticket.
• Download and save the PDF of the admit card of WB TET for any future references.

WB TET 2023 Answer Key

• The provisional answer key of WB TET will be released within a week after the exam.
• Candidates can match their own responses from the answers given by the examination authority.
• The students can raise objections and challenge the provisional answer key of WB TET.
• The final answer key of WB TET will be released after rectifying all the challenged answers.
• No changes will be entertained once the final answer key is released.
• The result and cut off will be based on the WB TET final answer key.

WB TET 2023 Merit List

• The merit list will be prepared after the answer key has been announced.
• This list is based on the cut off marks. Candidates who score above the cut off marks will be listed in the merit list.
• The rank list for various categories will be separate.
• The candidates who score maximum marks in the exam will be listed at the top.
• On the basis of the merit list, candidates can take part in the counselling process.

WB TET 2023 Result

• WB TET Result will be available on the official website of West Bengal Board of Primary Education.
• The result will be available in pdf format which could be easily downloaded by the candidates.
• Students can check their result by entering their WB TET registration/ roll number and captcha code.
• The score card contains details like name of the papers, marks scored in each paper, aggregate marks, qualifying status, final remarks.
• Candidates save a copy of the result for future references.

WB TET 2023 Counselling

• The counselling of the TET qualified teachers will take place in offline mode.
• Candidates will be intimidated  about the counselling venue and timing via email.
• Carry all the original documents and a photocopy of the same on the prescribed date and venue.
• After the successful completion of the counselling, the eligible candidates will be offered the joining letter.
