XAT 2024 Syllabus : Section Wise Details,

XAT 2024 syllabus is indicative and not exhaustive. The questions in the exam may be based on the above topics but may not be limited to them. It is recommended that students must refer to XAT preparatory books and online resources for a more comprehensive understanding of the syllabus. The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) has announced that it will conduct the XAT mock test on October 28. Candidates who will have completed the XAT 2024 application process by October 25 will be able to appear for the mock test on the official website, xatonline.in.

XLRI Jamshedpur does not release any official syllabus for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). However, the experts have provided this detailed syllabus of XAT 2022 based on the previous year question papers.

XAT 2024 syllabus

The XAT 2024 exam will consist of five sections:

  1. Verbal and Logical Ability (VA and LR)
    • Vocabulary: Meanings of words, synonyms, antonyms, and word usage
    • Grammar: Parts of speech, sentence structure, and correct usage
    • Reading comprehension: Understanding and analyzing passages
    • Logical reasoning: Identifying patterns, relationships, and inconsistencies
    • Critical reasoning: Evaluating arguments and drawing conclusions
  2. Decision Making (DM)
    • Data interpretation: Analyzing and interpreting data presented in tables, graphs, and charts
    • Decision-making skills: Identifying problems, evaluating options, and making sound decisions
    • Analytical reasoning: Applying logical reasoning to real-world situations
    • Problem-solving skills: Identifying and solving complex problems
  3. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA and DI)
    • Arithmetic: Basic arithmetic operations, percentages, ratios, and proportions
    • Algebra: Linear equations, quadratic equations, and inequalities
    • Geometry: Lines, angles, triangles, circles, and other geometric shapes
    • Mensuration: Area, volume, and surface area of solids
    • Data interpretation: Analyzing and interpreting data presented in tables, graphs, and charts
  4. General Knowledge (GK)
    • Current affairs: Awareness of recent events and developments in India and around the world
    • Business and economics: Basic concepts of economics, business, and finance
    • History, geography, and polity: General knowledge of Indian and world history, geography, and polity
    • Science and technology: Basic concepts of science and technology
    • Arts and culture: General knowledge of Indian and world arts and culture
  5. Essay Writing (AEW)
    • Writing skills: Ability to write a well-structured and coherent essay
    • Analytical thinking: Ability to analyze a topic and present a clear and concise argument
    • Language skills: Proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure
