AMET or Academy of Maritime Education and Training University was established in the year 1992, is an educational institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The university is recognized as a deemed to be university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. It is an autonomous engineering and technology-oriented institute of higher education and is the first University to give maritime Studies in India. AMET has collaborations with universities and academies in India and abroad. The AMET University offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Research programs in different departments viz; Nautical Science, Marine Science, Offshore Engineering, Energy Engineering, Life Science. AMET is initiating many steps for the welfare of the students and one of its kind assisting for scholarships for the deserving applicants.
