Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya is also known as Bhagat Phool Singh Women's University. It is the first women's only State university of Northern India established by Haryana's Government in August 2006. It is located at Village Khanpur Kalan, in Sonepat. Bhagat Phool Singh was a nobleman. His firm belief in the empowerment of women through education led him to establish a Gurukul for girls at Khanpur Kalan in 1936. Some of the anti-social elements did not like it and killed BhagatPhool Singh on August 14, 1942. The University has excellence centers under it. It provides admission to various Post Graduate, Undergraduate, and Ph.D. courses.

Application Procedure

Note: The admission to all the programs will be made by online mode. 

For further continuing the admission procedure the applicant must have a University Prospectus copy, the same can be downloaded or purchased. 

  1. The application can be done online on the University website or you may submit the form in the University Admission Department.
  2. Fill in the asked details and then proceed. The login credentials would be provided on the phone then.
  3. By logging in applicant may fill the details and apply to the course of choice. There is a hike in fee accordingly if the applied to course is more than one in number.
  4. After the application form is completed, an online receipt will be generated on selecting the payment option on the page. Applicant has to get a print out of the copy of e-challan receipt and deposit the fee at any HDFC branch.
  5. The notificaion for submission of fee will be available on the login page of the applicant. 
  6. After the passing of the last date, the applicant can see Tentative Merit List on the website, on the page of the respective department.
  7. Applicant need to verify the documents then.
  8. After the process is complete, a final approval regarding Fee Category would be generated by the University.

Scholarship at BPSMV

BPSMV offers different kind of scholarships. These can be listed as:

  1. University Merit Scholarship: The purpose of this fellowship programme is to support those students who are unable to pursue higher education due to financial restraints. The students must have a domicile of Haryana state. The scholarship is supposed to be cancelled if the student will be unable to pass the promotional examinations held by the university annually.
  2. University Merit cum Means Scholarship : This fellowship programme is specifically designed for the applicants belonging to Minority Communities in Harayana whose parents’ annual income is less than 2.50 lakhs.
  3. Promotion of science education scholarship scheme for students pursuing UG and PG courses in science: This scholarship requires candidates to secure 85% marks  in Sr.Secondary school or 75% mark in graduation. The application form can be filled online. The last date to fill the form is in September.
  4. Haryana State Council for Science & Technology fellowship programme for students pursuing Ph.D. in science subjects: This fellowship is offered by the Haryana State Council candidates pursuing education in the field of Science & Technology.. The candidates must have opted for CSIR-JRF and should have qualified CSIR LS NET in CSIR-UGC Test for JRF and LS (NET) for full time research involved in doctoral programme from any recognized University in Haryana. This is offered to the candidates for a period of three years, however, if the candidate fulfills the described conditions, the fellowship will be extended to 4th and 5th years as well.
