Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU), Dhanbad, established in 2017, has 28 departments of education, 10 Constituent Colleges, 18 Affiliated Colleges, 25 B.eD Colleges and 2 Engineering Colleges. It is currently serving more than one lakh students in its affiliated and constituent colleges. The admissions are merit-based and on a first come first serve basis. It also known as Binod Bihar Moto Koylanchal University Dhanbad is a state university which came into existence by Jharkhand Government. It was established in the year 2017. It offers approximately 9 courses across 3 streams. The popular courses include LLB, BE/ B.Tech. The institution has approx 10 constituent colleges and 18 affiliated colleges. The institute was laid on 13 November. The institution offers many undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The name of the vice-chancellor of the institute is Anjani Kumar Srivastava. Prof. (Dr.) Anjani Kumar Srivastava is the first Vice-Chancellor of Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad. He is an eminent academician and well-known administrator. Before joining as the Vice-Chancellor of BBMKU, Professor Srivastava served as a University Professor in the Department of Botany and Dean, Faculty of Science at Ranchi University, Ranchi.
