The BIT main campus is in Mesra whereas the off campuses of BIT are located in Allahabad, Noida, Jaipur, Lalpur, Deoghar, Patna and Kolkata.  In 1970, the Small Industries Research and Development Organization (SIRDO) was set up as a launching pad for small enterprises (manufacturing) managed by the graduates of the Birla Institute of Technology. Admission Through JEE Main, NATA Etc

BIT Mesra consider various entrance exam score for courses at UG & PG level.

• Admission to Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra is based purely on the score obtained in entrance exams like JEE Main or NEET for the BTech and BPharm courses respectively.
• For the BArch course, NATA examinations are conducted whereas for the BHMCT program, admissions are granted on the basis of an interview held at their campus.
• Recently suspension of the entrance exam for admission to BHMCT has also been announced by BIT Mesra.
• For admission to postgraduate level programmes such as MTech, MArch, and MURP in BIT Mesra, one needs to have a valid GATE score.
• MCA admissions are based on institute-specific entrance exam while for MPharm, MBA and MSc courses, GPAT, CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT and JAM/CUET scores respectively, need to be obtained.

BIT Mesra Admission 2023 UG & PG Courses

BIT is the first institute of India which has established a department of space engineering and rocketry in 1964. The university accepts the score of various state/ national level examinations to provide admission into various courses offered by the university. Examination whose scores are accepted by the university are as follows:

• Admission to B.Tech and B.Arch is provided based on the JEE Main and NATA score respectively.
• Admission to B.Pharm is also done based on the JEE Main score followed by counselling.
• The GATE score is accepted for admission to M.Tech and M.E programs.
• Also, admission in MBA is provided based on a valid score of CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT followed by GD/PI.
• Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/ CSIR-UGC NET or any other national level examination will be exempted from the entrance test conduct for admission in Ph.D. programs.

For admission in some of the courses, the university conducts its entrance test.

• M.Tech in Computer Science (CS) and Wireless Communication will be offered at the BIT Patna campus.
• MBA and MCA programs are offered at Mesra, Jaipur, Lalpur, and Noida campuses.

BIT Mesra Selection Criteria for MBA

Students who have qualified a CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT exam are eligible to apply for the MBA program. The category-wise minimum percentile required in each exam is given below in a table:

BIT Mesra Application Process for MBA 

The BIT Mesra Application Form 2023  will be available by the last week of January 2023. Students can apply for the MBA program by filling the application form online mode. Following are the steps that can be followed by the candidates to fill the registration form with ease:

• Step 1: Visit the BIT Mesra official website and click on the "Admission" tab.
• Step 2: Now, click on the "MBA Notification" tab.
• Step 3: The registration page will open. Here, candidates have to register themselves.
• Step 4: After registration, fill in the required details like name, entrance score in the application form and also upload the documents.
• Step 5: Now, pay the application fee of Rs. 2500 (Rs. 1500 for reserved categories) through Debit/ Credit card or Net Banking of State Bank of India (SBI) in favor of 'Birla Institute of Technology.
• Step 6: After paying the fee, submit the application form and take the printout of the same.

BIT Mesra UG Admission 2023

BIT Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech and B.Arch Admission 2023

BIT Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm and BHMCT Admission 2023

The university offers BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology) and B.Pharm courses at its Mesra campus. It also offered Integrated M.Sc program in four disciplines. The basic eligibility required for the admission in all the courses is passing the 10+2/ HSC or equivalent examination. BIT Mesra PhD Admission 2023

PhD program in BIT Mesra is offered in sixteen specializations. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in the same/relevant field for the admission into a PhD program. Also, score a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA in the qualifying examination. 

The eligibility required and selection process for PhD is given below:

• Candidates with UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ NBHM/ DBT-JRF/ GATE/ GPAT score are exempted from the entrance test for admission in the PhD program.
• Reserved category (SC/ST) candidates will get 5% relaxation in marks.

• Visit the BIT official website and click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab under the respective course.
• Firstly, Register and then login with the username and password.
• Fill the application form carefully and upload passport size photograph (maximum size 10 KB).
• Pay the application fees through State Bank Collect (Debit card/Credit Card or Net Banking).
• Application Processing Fees: Rs. 2500 (for General candidates) and Rs. 1500 (for SC/ST candidates).
