The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) offers admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes. The admission process for the academic year 2022-2023 is based on the Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Admission in all the courses provided by the Central University of Karnataka is purely based on the CUET exam. Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) is conducted by 14 central universities of India. This national-level examination is conducted only once every year. Candidates will have to qualify for the test to get admission into various central universities in undergraduate & post-graduate courses.
The Central University of Karnataka offers 5-year Integrated programs in the disciplines of Science, Engineering, and Humanities. It also offers a standalone program in Management studies. The University invites applications for UG and Integrated Courses in March every academic year. The Central University of Karnataka offers post-graduation courses in the disciplines of Science, Humanities, Linguistics, Commerce, and Management. Admission to all PG courses will begin in June. The Central University of Karnataka offers also offers research programs in various subjects. Admissions to the research programs begin in June after the CUET exam. Admissions to Ph.D. and M.Phil courses are made through CUET followed by Interviews. Candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR/DST/MHRD - JRF are exempted from the entrance test and will have to appear for a personal interview. NET/SLET candidates are required to take the entrance test.

The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) was established by an Act of the Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) at Kadaganchi of Aland, Karnataka taluk Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan Period to address the concerns of ‘equity and access and to increase the access to quality higher education to people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrolment Ratio of less than the national average of 11%. The CUK, with its territorial jurisdiction all over Karnataka, initiated its activities from the academic year beginning August 2009 in keeping with the philosophy of achieving and maintaining the highest levels of academic excellence, sensitivity to equity and access in enrolment and recruitment, and emerging as a premier national educational and research institution in the country.
