The Central University of South Bihar offers 3 different integrated programmes BA + B.Ed, B.Sc. + B.Ed and BA + LLB. The basic criterion to take admission in any of these integrated courses is to have passed 10+2 in relevant subjects/ any equivalent examination from any recognized Board. The candidates are selected on the basis of the rank score in CUCET.

The Central University of South Bihar offers LLM, MA, and M.Sc. courses as part of its PG Programmes list. The basic eligibility criterion to apply for admission in these PG courses requires the candidates to possess a graduate degree in relevant subjects from any recognized University/ Institution. The selection criterion for M.Tech is based on the score of GATE whereas for the rest of the PG courses, it is the score of CUCET which is considered for selection.

All research scholars get a UGC scholarship. Besides, the University has several types of scholarship schemes of its own. The University encourages and supports the meritorious students who are in need of financial assistance to pursue their studies smoothly through Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded in the form of a waiver of tuition fee up to 20% of students in each programme.
The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is one of the sixteen Central Universities established in 2009 by Central Universities Act, 2009 (section 25 of 2009) of Parliament. The campus of the University is spread over about 300 acres of land located at Gaya-Panchanpur Road, about 15 km. from Gaya railway station. Students are facilitated with a support system in multiple forms such as computing lab, library, hostels, transportation, health care etc. There are various forums and committees such as Psychological Counselling Forum, Grievance Redressal Cell, SC/ST/OBC/ Minority Cell, Anti-discrimination Cell, and Anti-ragging Committee to help students.
