Admission to CSVTU Bhilai can be obtained through either the Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test (CG PET), or the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE Mains). Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria and achieve the required cut-off marks in order to qualify for admission.

CSVTU offers B.Pharm and B.Arch degrees to candidates who qualify for relevant entrance exams based on their performances. University also offers a Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) in collaboration with NITTR with a duration of four years which is the same as other Diploma in Engineering programme. The four-year curriculum consists of three years of study and one year in an industrial internship.
