IGIDR Mumbai PhD Admission 2020 Course & Eligibility

Those who are interested in taking admission in the PhD course of IGIDR can check the details below:

• Course - The Institute offers a PhD in Development Studies of 4 years duration. The classes will commence from the end of July 2020. 
• IGIDR Mumbai PhD Admission Eligibility 
  • A candidate must have a minimum qualification in any of these M.A./M.Sc in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research) / M.B.A. / M.Tech. / M.E. / B.Tech. /B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines.
  • Mathematics is a must at the higher secondary or higher level.
  • Reservation will be given to the deserving candidates as per Government of India Rules. Reserved category applicants have to produce the necessary documentation as per GOI Rule.

IGIDR Mumbai PhD Admission 2020 Selection Process

• Applicants will be selected based on the performance in the online test and an interview.
•  The Online test for PhD will emphasize on Analytical ability, English, General understanding of
  Economic Environment and Mathematical skills at appropriate levels. 
• Based on the performance in the Online test, shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at Institute around the second or third week of June 2020.
• The selected candidates will be given a stipend of Rs 25,000/- in the first two years. Those aspirants, who fulfil the terms and conditions for PhD registration, will receive a monthly stipend of Rs.35,000/- in the third year.

IGIDR Mumbai PhD Admission 2020 Application Process

Candidates need to apply online only for IGIDR admission. The detailed Guidelines / Procedure are as follows: 

• Visit the official website of the authority(Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research).
• Then click on Programs from dropdown box select M.Phil and PhD. 
• And, then click on the link given " Announcement for online test" at the right side of the page.
• Click on Apply online for PhD.
• After that fill the details for new registration and submit and continue.
• Login again to fill the remaining details and for modifying the application form. 
• Must upload the scanned copy of the passport size photograph in the prescribed format only.
• Once the details are completed make the fee payment without which form won't be accepted.
• Need not send a copy of the form to the authority.
• After filling the form must get the printout of it for all future references.

Fee once paid will not be refunded in any case.
