Jawaharlal Nehru University Admission 2023 for most of the course is done through a computer-based test i.e. JNUEE. It is one of the leading universities in the country with the second position in NIRF 2019. University also received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Admission 2023 Latest Update:

  • JNU Admission 2023 (CUET) Exam Date has been announced. The exam will be held on 21st to 31st May 2023. Check other dates below.
  • JNU is currently accepting applications for MBA admission 2023.
  • The deadline for submission of the MBA application form is March 15, 2023.
  • Interested candidates can apply online on the official JNU website at jnu.ac.in.
  • The first merit list for PhD admissions, previously scheduled to be released on February 3, 2023, will now be released in the second week of February 2023.
  • For undergraduate admission to JNU in 2023, the university will consider scores from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG).
  • Registration for CUET UG 2023 began on February 9, 2023, and the deadline for filling out the application form is March 12, 2023.
  • Interested candidates can apply for CUET UG 2023 online on the official website at cuet.samarth.ac.in.
  • The CUET UG 2023 exam is scheduled to be conducted from May 21 to May 31, 2023.
  • For postgraduate admission to JNU in 2023, admissions to all PG courses will be based on CUET PG scores.
  • The CUET PG 2023 exam will be conducted from June 1 to June 10, 2023.
  • CUET PG 2023 registrations are expected to begin in March 2023 on the official website – cuet.nta.nic.in.

JNU UG Admission 2023

The School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies (SLLCS) are the only School of Study under JNU that offers admission in Bachelor’s degree i.e. B.A. (Hons). The admission is provided in various languages –  Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Pashto, Russian, And Spanish.

The institute also provides entry points to both the first and second years of this programme. University does not conduct any viva voce examination for admission in B.A. (Hons.) first year, but for admission in the second year, candidates have to appear in the viva voce examination. Candidates must secure the marks given below out of 70 in the written examination to appear in the viva voce exam of the university:

  • General Category: 25% (17.50 marks out of 70)
  •  OBC: 22.50% (15.75 marks out of 70)
  •  SC/ST/PH: 15% (10.50 marks out of 70)

The final selection of applicants in the undergraduate programs of study is done based on inter-se merit of candidates in their respective categories, based on their performance in the following admission parameters:

  1.  in the written exam,
  2.  in the viva voce (wherever prescribed), and
  3.  after incorporating the Deprivation Points, if needed.

JNU PG Admission 2023

Candidates with Master’s degree programs of study, excluding M.A. programs in foreign languages (School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies), can apply for the university's viva voce exam. Candidate must have the following marks out of 70 in the written examination for post-graduate courses, to appear in the viva voce examination:

  •  General Category: 25% (17.50 marks out of 70)
  •  OBC: 22.50% (15.75 marks out of 70)
  •  SC/ST/PH: 15% (10.50 marks out of 70)

JNU M.Phil/Ph.D Admission 2023

The JNU provides research facilities (M.Phil./Ph.D., M.Tech./Ph.D., Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D., MPH/Ph.D.) in more than about twenty different disciplines. For admission to M.Phil./Ph.D. programs, candidates are invited for the viva voce examination. Candidate must secure the following marks out of 70 in the written exam for doctoral courses in order to appear in the viva voce exams:

  •  General Category: 35% (24.50 marks out of 70)
  •  OBC: 31.50% (22.05 marks out of 70)
  •  SC/ST/PH: 25% (17.50 marks out of 70)

The final merit list is prepared by candidates' performance in the following admission parameters:

  1.  in the written exam,
  2.  in the viva voce, and
  3.  after incorporating the Deprivation Points, if needed.

On the basis of candidate's marks in the UGC-NET examination, they are awarded State Govt. Scholarship, sponsored fellowships, and merit-cum-means scholarships.
