University of Kerala formerly known as the University of Travancore which was established in the year 1937 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. L.Lb------The eligibility for applying to LL.B (3 years) is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 45% in aggregate for General Category, 42% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST.

  • Admission to the BPA will be made based on the aptitude test.
  • In the rest of the other courses, the admission will be made on a merit basis i.e. based on a percentage of marks secured in the qualifying degree examination and personal interview.

For admission to the B.Tech program, candidates must have a qualified KEAM exam to attend the counseling session which will be organized by the Government of Kerala after the announcement of the result. University also accepts the scores of JEE Main for admission in the BTech course.

Kerala University M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, MBA & MCA Admission 2023

The University of Kerala offers M. Tech, M.Plan, M.Arch, MBA, and MCA courses in various specializations at the PG level. University also offers an MBA program in Part-time and evening modes along with full-Time mode. Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline is the minimum eligibility for admission.

Admission in an MBA course is offered through candidates’ performance in KMAT/ CAT or CMAT followed by GD and PI. For shortlisting candidates in all the PG courses, Kerala University conducts separate entrance test followed by an interview. GATE qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for the M.Tech program.

Kerala University M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2023

The University also offers an M.Phil. and PhD programs at the doctorate level. Admission in the MPhil course is offered once a year while the admission process for the Ph.D. program is conducted twice a year. Candidates must have 55% marks (SC/ST/PWD candidates must have 50%) in the relevant Master’s degree for admission in these courses. Admission to both the courses is offered through the university entrance test followed by an interview for the shortlisted candidates.

  • University conducts a three hours entrance test for admission in M.Phil course which consists of 50% question for Research Methodology and 50% form the subject concerned.
  • Final admission to M.Phil is based on 50% weightage to the entrance test, 40% to the qualifying examination, and 10% to the interview round.
Exemptions from the Ph.D. Entrance Test
  • Candidates who have completed DBT-JRF, DST-INSPIRE are exempted from the entrance test for Ph.D. admissions.
  • Candidates with 7 years of experience and a minimum of 2 research papers are also exempted along with candidates with DM/M.Ch. Degree and those working with Central/state government in the related areas of research.
  • UGC NET JRF/ UGC CSIR NET/ GATE/ ICAR/ ICMR/ GPAT or any other equivalent examination qualified or M.Phil passed candidates are eligible for direct admission.
