KLE Technological University was established in the year 1947 and is a private university recognized by the Government of Karnataka. It was earlier known as B. V. B. College of Engineering and Technology (BVBCET) and was upgraded to a university under the KLE Technological University Act, 2012. It covers an area of 53 acres (210,000 m2) in Hubballi / Hubli in Karnataka. The university offers 12 undergraduate programs, eight postgraduate programs, and research programs in seven disciplines. The university also provides scholarships to meritorious candidates for their higher education. It also provides placements in established companies in India.

Admission process for KLE Technological University, Hubli is as follows:
Undergraduate Programs:
- Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject.
- Admissions to B.Tech programs are done through Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main or any other State-level Engineering Entrance Examination.
- Candidates who have not appeared for the above-mentioned examinations can take the KLEEE (KLE Engineering Entrance Exam) conducted by the university.
Postgraduate Programs:
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Admission to M.Tech program is done through GATE or Karnataka PGCET or KLEEE (KLE Engineering Entrance Exam) conducted by the university.
- Admission to the MCA program is done through PGCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) or KLEEE (KLE Engineering Entrance Exam) conducted by the university.
Doctoral Programs:
- Candidates should have a Master's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Admissions to Ph.D. programs are based on the KLEEE (KLE Engineering Entrance Exam) conducted by the university followed by an interview. Candidates with a valid score in UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, SLET or SET are exempted from the entrance exam.

KLE Technological University Application Process
- Application for KCET is required for admission to any of the B.E./B.Arch programs.
- Candidates interested in taking the B.Arch program can fill out an application form on the NATA website and pay the NATA Exam fee of Rs.1250/- online or through the council's website.
- Candidates must pay the application fee (Rs. 600/- for general category and Rs. 300/- for SC/ST category) to the registrar, VTU, Belgaum, via DD drawn in favor of "Finance Officer, VTU, Belgaum" payable at Belgaum.
