MDU Rohtak offers admission in B.Tech, B.Pharm programmes at the UG level and 5-year integrated courses in various disciplines including Law, Mathematics, English, Economics, Public Administration, Commerce, Management, and Hotel Management. For B. Tech and B.Pharm admission, candidates must have secured at least 45% and 50% marks, respectively, in class 12 with the required subjects. For admission in integrated courses, the candidate must have passed class 12 from a recognized board of education.
Admission in B.Tech depends on the basis of counselling conducted by the Haryana State Technical Counseling Society (HSTES), Panchkula. Candidates with a good JEE Main score can also apply for counselling. Selection to B.Pharm depends on the entrance test conducted by the concerned department. For Lateral Entry admission in B.Pharm, the candidate score in class 12 will be considered. Admission of candidates to integrated courses depends on the candidate's merit in the qualifying examination as well as marks scored in the entrance examination.

MDU offers admission in the various specialization of M.Pharm and M.Sc in life sciences, forensic sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Admissions in these courses are based on the merit of the MDU Common Entrance Test (MDUCEE). Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant or concerned discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the aggregate or equivalent exam for admission in PG Courses. After the declaration of MDUCEE results, candidates have to register online for participating in centralized admission counselling. The final selection in PG programmes is done through centralized admission counselling.

The following categories of candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test for PhD program and award of URS:
Apart from regular courses, MDU Rohtak also offers admission to distance learning courses. Directorate of Distance Education, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU DDE) offers various courses at UG and PG level in selected specializations. Admission to distance education courses is on the basis of candidate merit in the qualifying examination. Candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognized board for admission to bachelor's degree courses and must have completed a graduate degree to apply for postgraduate courses.

Interested candidates can apply for admission to courses offered by MDU CEE through the MDU website. Candidates have to fill the online application form and submit the application fees through e-challan at any branch of Punjab National Bank or Axis Bank. MDU students enrolling for PG program have to follow different steps while filling the application form as compared to students from other board or universities. Candidates have to send the duly filled application form along with requisite documents to the following address:
University will release the admission prospectus along with all the details regarding the courses in online mode at MDU official website i.e.. Candidates may fill the application form online and submit the application fees via debit/credit card. Candidates have to pay the processing charges for submission of the application for admission will be charged as Rs 600 for general category candidates and Rs 150 (for SC/BC candidates of Haryana only).
