Nalanda University Admission 2023 is based on the entrance test conducted by the university. It is also known as the Nalanda International University was established in 2014 by an Act of Parliament. It is located in the Rajgir near Nalanda Bihar, is an international & research-intensive university. Nalanda University offers specializations in MA, M.Sc, MBA, Ph.D., and PG Diploma courses. Nalanda University Admission:

Nalanda University is a central university situated in Nalanda, Bihar. The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in the fields of science, humanities, social sciences, and management. The university conducts its admission process through an online application process. The details of the admission process are mentioned below:

Undergraduate Courses:

  • For admission to the undergraduate courses, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • The selection of candidates is based on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination.

Postgraduate Courses:

  • For admission to the postgraduate courses, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • The selection of candidates is based on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination.

Doctoral Courses:

  • For admission to the doctoral courses, candidates must have a master's degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • The selection of candidates is based on the written test followed by an interview conducted by the university.

Nalanda University MBA Admission 2023

Nalanda University offers MBA course in one specialization only for the duration of two years.

  • The candidate should have taken either the CAT, MAT or the XAT with at least 70 percentile.
  • Interested candidates have to produce a Bio-Statement and a Statement of Purpose, followed by an interview. On the basis of which, they will be considered for the further selection process.

CAT 2023 

CAT 2023 will be conducted on 28 November by the IIM Ahmedabad. Common Admission Test is conducted annually and applicants from across India can participate and can get admissions into PGP, PGP-FABM, PGP, PGP-HRM, PGPEM, PGPPM courses offered by more than 200 B-Schools, apart from IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management). 

The exam will be organised via online mode for the duration of 120 minutes. 100 MCQs will be asked from Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension and Quantitative Ability 

XAT 2023

XAT 2023 will be conducted on 02 January by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). Xavier Aptitude Test is conducted in online mode. Almost, 1 lakh students appeared in this exam the previous year and approximately 600 business schools accept XAT score for giving admission to the candidates in their MBA/PGDM programs. 

Nalanda University PG Admission 2023

The university offers an MA course in two specializations and an M.Sc course in one specialization. For admission in these PG programmes, candidates must have a graduation degree with at least 55% marks. For selection, candidates have to produce a Bio-statement and a Statement of Purpose. Shortlisted candidates have to appear in an interview process before being considered for further selection.

The university offers PG Diploma Course for seven specializations. For admission in this course, the candidate must have a graduate degree. The candidate must also show linguistic competence in the chosen language. Selection will be based on an interview.

Nalanda University Admission 2023 Application Process

The candidates must check their eligibility before filling the Application Form. The procedure of filing the NU Nalanda application is given below:

  • Visit the official website of Nalanda University i.e. https://nalandauniv.edu.in/.
  • Fill up the Online Form for the Entrance Test.
  • Attach the required Documents:
    • Date of Birth Certificate.
    • Marksheets.
    • Transfer certificate.
    • Migration Certificate.
    • Caste Certificate (for reserved category candidates)
    • Aadhar Card.
    • Photographs of the applicant.
    • An affidavit from Notary Public on stamp paper signed by Parent/ Guardian.
  • Fill the form carefully and pay the application fees of Rs 500 (For Indian candidates) and $10 (For Foreign National candidates) online via Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net-banking. 

NU Nalanda Admission 2023 Scholarships

Nalanda University provides two types of financial support to the students viz; Merit Scholarship, Means-cum-Merit Scholarship

Merit Scholarship

  •  Applicants securing 7.5-grade points and above will be eligible for the Merit scholarship.
  • Only one topper per School will get the Merit scholarship.
  • The scholarship will begin from the second semester.
  • Students securing the highest grade point (SGPA) in a semester will be awarded a scholarship in the subsequent semester.

Means-cum-Merit Scholarship

  • Scholarship for Economically Challenged students consists of a tuition fee waiver.
  • Applicants with an annual income less than Rs 3 lakh/equivalent in US Dollars are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
  • The scholarship will cover all four semesters of the program subject to maintaining a grade point average of 6.5 and above. 
  • The scholarship holders will get the aid until they maintain the requisite grades every semester.
  • There are limited scholarships available, so mere application does not guarantee the scholarship.

Work-cum-Study Program

  • Work-cum-study support will be offered only in the second and third semesters to the applicants.
  • Possible departments where students can be engaged for work-study are – University projects, hostel management, University library, net zero-project & laboratory work.
  • A candidate will be remunerated at the rate of Rs 200 per hour, totaling not more than Rs 8000 per month.
  • Each recipient will be required to work for 10 hours every week, in total not more than 40 hours every month.
  • The program will be withdrawn if the final grades in the concerned semesters fall below CGPA 7.0.

International Fellowships/Scholarships

CLMV Scholarship (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam) - The Indian Government has approved six scholarships per academic year for students from Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam under the ASEAN-INDIA Fund, the Ministry of External Affairs for the higher studies in the Nalanda University.

 Nalanda University Scholarship for Bhutan - The Indian Government provides two scholarships for Bhutanese students under the Ministry of External Affairs for higher studies in the Nalanda University.

Thailand Scholarship for Nalanda University - The Thailand Govt. has set up the “Thailand Fund for Nalanda University”, for supporting the studies of Thai nationals in the School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religions at Nalanda University.

Nalanda University Facilities

  • KOHA-automated library: The university has a KOHA-automated library. The library is completely air-conditioned and has a wireless internet connection. The institution has established an open source library for archiving e-resources, which students and faculty members can use. The library is designed to assist students with their academics and research projects.
  • Sports: For the students' refreshment, Nalanda University has made arrangements for recreation, sports, and games.
    The university features a well-equipped laboratory with all of the necessary equipment.
  • Hostel: The university also includes a hostel with all of the necessary amenities. Both men and women can stay in the hotels. The hostel fees range from INR 34.92 K to INR 47.42 K per year.
