SHUATS or Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Sciences formerly known as the Allahabad Agricultural Institute is a public university established in 1910 by Dr. Sam Higginbottom. In 1942 it became the first institute in India to offer a degree in Agricultural Engineering. It covers an area of 900 acres. The university is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, Association of Commonwealth Universities, Indian Agricultural Universities Association and International Association of Universities, NAAC, UGC. The academic infrastructure of the university is organized into five faculties - Engineering and Technology; Agriculture; Science, Theology, Humanities, and Social Science, Health Sciences - which consist of 15 constituent schools, 60 academic departments, and four advanced research centres with emphasis on scientific, agricultural, technological education and research.

SHUATS Scholarships
SHUATS provides a variety of scholarships to deserving students at the university who have a strong academic record and come from low-income families. The following are some of the scholarships available:
- Student's Book aid scholarship
- Junior Fellowship of I.C.A.R.
- SC/ST/OBC/Minorities Scholarships of State Government
- All India Association for Christian Higher Education (AIACHE), New Delhi
- Jindal Trust, New Delhi
- Jajya Krishi Utpadan Mandi Parishad- Allahabad
- U.P. Alpsankhyak Vittia Evam Nigam- Lucknow
- Chaplain’s Scholarship: These scholarships are available only to poor and needy Christian students
- SHUATS-DU work scholarship: SHUATS provides financial assistance to students as the “Earn While Learning Scheme” where students can study while working for SHUATS. Selected UG and PG students are paid INR 25 per hour. The maximum earning of a student per month is INR 1000. Students are required to work for a minimum of 40 hours per month.
- Yeshu Darbar Scholarship: These scholarships are available only to poor and needy Christian students.
