Sikkim University Admission 2023 is based on Central Admission Test. University conducts its own entrance test for admission in the Ph.D. programme. It is a central university located at Gangtok and operates from a different location along NH-10. The main administrative office of the University is located at Samdur, 6th Mile, Tadong. The permanent campus of the University is coming up at Yangang in South Sikkim. The university started with the four departments-Peace and Conflict Studies and Management; Social System and Anthropology; International Relations/Politics; and Microbiology in 2008. Admission in the MBA programme is purely based on CAT or MAT or CMAT scores along with scores in a bachelor’s degree.

Sikkim University Admission 2023 Counselling Process
In view of COVID-19, for academic session 2023-2023, the merit list will be prepared based on the score of the qualifying examination. Those who will not attend the counseling/admission round will not be allocated seats. The eligible candidates will have to carry the following documents for verification purposes:
- Original Mark-sheet (s) of the qualifying examinations with one self-attested photocopy (both
sides). - Original certificate of proof of age and a self-attested copy
- Original SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS certificate and a self-attested copy
- Certificate of participation in sports/games of the last three years
- Original Annual Income Certificate of the family for EWS candidates from the competent authority.
- Original Migration Certificate
- NSS certificate validating credential of providing more than 200 hours of service
- University Registration Certificate wherever applicable.

Sikkim University Reservation Criteria
The University follows reservation criteria for its admission into UG & PG courses, the details of which have been provided underneath:
- Two seats shall be reserved for Jammu and Kashmir candidates on a supernumerary basis. If there are more than two, their admission will be based on merit in the qualifying examination.
- A few supernumerary seats will be reserved for candidates recommended by AICTE following a counselling process under Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).
- 10 % of seats will be reserved for foreign nationals on a supernumerary basis.
- Applicants of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, and Pakistan may be allowed provided it is specifically recommended by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Govt. of India. However, students from Nepal and Bhutan may be admitted under this provision.
- 10 % seats will be reserved for Economically Weaker Sections having gross annual family income less than Rs. 8.00 lakhs.
- 10% weightage will be given to Sikkim University aspirants for the purpose of preparation of the merit list for PG courses.
How to Apply for Sikkim University UG & PG Admission 2023?
The application procedure consists of these steps:
- First of all the candidate need to select the college of his choice then enroll in the desired and then register himself on the University Portal.
- If the list of paper entries is more in number than the appearing papers then select dummy from the paper option box.
- The photograph uploaded must be of color, and of less than 01 MB. The format supported is .jpeg.
- Applicants must keep with them the Sikkim University Registration Number safe once allotted.
- After submitting the online form payment must be done via Net banking, Credit/Debit Card, etc. Rs. 600 for UR categories & Rs 300 for ST/SC/PWD.
- Documents required to be attached to the Print Copy of Form (University Copy)
- Self-attested copy of Qualifying Examination's Final Semester Mark Sheet.
2. Self-attested copy of Qualifying Examnation's Original or Provisional Degree Certificate.
3. Self-attested copy of Class Matriculation Mark Sheet for Age Proof.
4. Self-attested copy of Caste Certificate if applicable.
5. Migration Certificate in Original if the Qualifying Exam was not taken under Sikkim University.
7. Admission Fee receipt; mandatory for all students enrolled in the University departments and PG students.
