SRHU PhD Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying to the programme, candidates are advised to ensure that whether they are eligible or not:

• Candidates should have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
• A relaxation of 5% marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled.
• Candidates having their Master's degree from a foreign university must submit equivalence certificate.
• Foreign nationals can also apply based on the norms and procedures as prescribed by the Government of India/UGC or any other Authorities/Bodies

SRHU PhD Admission 2020 Selection Basis

The candidates are offered PhD programmes based on the following:

• The University conducts an entrance exam for all those who are seeking to apply for any of the above-mentioned specializations.
• The qualified candidates will be called for personal interaction and interview to discuss research interest/area.
• A candidate who will secure a minimum of 50% marks each in the Entrance Examination and Personal Interaction & Interview separately, will be given a seat.
• GPAT/JRF/GATE/NET/M.Phil. (UGC/ CSIR) qualified candidates must score 50% marks in the personal interaction and interview for admission into the PhD programme of the University.
• In the final merit list, a weightage of 70% to the entrance test & 30% to the personal interaction and interview shall be given.
• Candidates working under Central Govt. /State Govt. /Semi Govt. / Autonomous organization must submit a 'No Objection Certificate' from their employer along with the prescribed application form.
• Employees of Swami Rama Himalayan University intending to register for PhD programme shall
  submit their application through their respective Head of the Constituent College/ Academic Unit.
• The selection procedure for these candidates shall be the same as for the external candidates.

SRHU PhD Entrance Exam Scheme

The Scheme of PhD entrance test has been discussed below in the table for Swami Rama Himalayan University Dehradun:

• The exam will be organised in English language only.
• There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
• The assessment of Personal Interaction and Interview shall be on the basis of the following criteria:
  • Presentation (15 Marks)
  •  Knowledge (20 Marks)
  • Aptitude for Research (15 Marks)

GPAT/JRF/GATE/NET/M.Phil. (UGC/ CSIR) qualified candidates are exempted from the Written Entrance Examination. However, they will have to appear for interview as notified. The UGC NET/SLET/GATE/GPAT Certificates shall be valid till 03 years from the date of declaration of the Result or issuing the certificates.
