Tata Institute of Social Sciences is also known as TISS and was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. It was renamed the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 1944. It is deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The vision of TISS is to become an Institute of Excellence in Higher Education and to reach larger communities by expanding its horizons. It supports a society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice, and human rights for all. TISS Mumbai is the main campus of the four TISS campuses. TISS Mumbai Admission 2023 to most of the programs are based on the scores of the National Entrance Test (NET) conducted by the institute. TISS gives admissions to various courses of arts, sciences, and Law. In addition to postgraduate and M.Phil as well as Ph.D. programs the institute also offers several diplomae and certificate courses such as Diploma in Youth Leadership and Social Change. Minimum 12th level education. The intake for the course is 20.
