Tata Institute of Social Sciences is also known as TISS and was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. It was renamed the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 1944. It is deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The vision of TISS is to become an Institute of Excellence in Higher Education and to reach larger communities by expanding its horizons. It supports a society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice, and human rights for all.  TISS Mumbai is the main campus of the four TISS campuses. The other campuses are located in Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Tuljapur. The application process will take place in an online mode. Check the eligibility before applying for the courses. Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai offers admission to various UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs for the academic session 2023. TISS Mumbai Admission 2023 to most of the programs are based on the scores of the National Entrance Test (NET) conducted by the institute. TISS Admissions 2023 for Diploma Courses

TISS gives admissions to various courses of arts, sciences, and Law. In addition to postgraduate and M.Phil as well as Ph.D. programs the institute also offers several diplomae and certificate courses such as Diploma in Youth Leadership and Social Change. Minimum 12th level education. The intake for the course is 20.

Applicants must have either a medical graduation/ graduation with 2 years of work experience.

The minimum eligibility to apply is 45% of marks and 35% for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBC or a Postgraduate degree. Applicants Sponsored by hospitals will be given preference in admission.

CLL

 P.GDiploma in Counselling (DC)

A graduation in any discipline, of at least 3 years duration or its equivalent from a
recognized University. Preference will be given to those having work experience in clinical,
social and developmental surroundings.

Diploma in Gerontology (DG)

  1.  12th pass with minimum two years of work experience or graduate in any discipline.
    Priority would be given to those who are working in social work organizations.
  2.  The Course will cater to all who intend to branch out or initiate services for the elderly.
  3. The Diploma Programme as an interdisciplinary focus, and so it will invite those from
    medical, legal and financial backgrounds who with to address issues of elderly and to
    audit specific subjects in particular.

Must have done XII with one year experience.

Graduates with 3 years of work experience after graduation in managerial or supervisory category, preferably in personnel / administration department.

JTCDM

P.G. Diploma in Disaster Management

A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university, with minimum aggregate marks
of 50 per cent and 40 percent for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
Applicants with demonstrated interest in working with people in disaster situation for a
minimum of one year would be preferred. Sponsored candidates from organizations working in
the area of disasters would be given special preference.

JTCDM

Certificate Programme in Disaster Management
(6 months)

A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university, with atleast 50%  and 40% for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
Applicants with demonstrated interest in working with people in disaster situation for a
minimum of one year would be preferred. Sponsored applicants from organizations working in
the area of disasters would be given special preference.

Applicants should have either Bachelor of Library and Information Science or Masters of Library and Information Science from any recognized university. Persons with disability: 3% seats are reserved for PWD of which 1% each is reserved for i) Low Vision/Blindness ii) hearing impairment and iii) Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Plasy  Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience

Applicants should have at least a Basic Graduate Degree from a recognised University from any stream.
