1. B.E/B.Tech Admission: The admission to B.E/B.Tech courses is based on JEE Main score followed by counselling through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)/Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). Alternatively, candidates can also apply through the institute's own exam, known as the Thapar Entrance Examination. The eligibility criteria for B.E/B.Tech is 10+2 or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology.
2. M.E/M.Tech Admission: The admission to M.E/M.Tech programs is based on the candidate's performance in GATE or Thapar University Entrance Test  followed by an interview. Candidates must have a B.E/B.Tech degree in relevant fields with at least 60% aggregate marks.
3. MBA Admission: The admission to the MBA program is based on the candidate's performance in CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT/XAT followed by group discussion and personal interview. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks.
4. MCA Admission: The admission to the MCA program is based on the candidate's performance in the Thapar Entrance Test  followed by counselling. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.
5. Ph.D. Admission: The admission to the Ph.D. program is based on the candidate's performance in the Thapar University Entrance Test followed by an interview. Candidates must have a Master's degree in relevant fields with at least 60% aggregate marks.

For admission in B.E. or B.Tech, the students are required to clear exam of JEE main which is followed by counselling. For lateral entry, the students will be selected on the basis of merit of LEET exam.
