M. Sc. (Mathematics / Physics) | Category 1. Students with a JAM score equal to or above the cut-off marks for the general category will be exempted from the written test. Category 2. Candidates not belonging to category 1 have to appear for the written test. The written test will be a qualifier for them. All candidates have to appear for an interview. A common merit list will be prepared based on their performances in the interview only. |
M. Tech. (CSE/ ECE) and MS (CSE/ ECE/ CCE): | All the GATE qualified (in the general category and in the respective subject) candidates will be exempted from the written test. There will be two separate merit lists for various categories of candidates as described below. Category 1. Candidate securing more than 95 percentile in GATE and having a B. Tech./ B. E. degree in the concerned subject will also be exempted from the interview. A separate merit list will be prepared for them solely based on their GATE score. They will be eligible for direct admission and they will be preferred over the other category of candidates for admission. Category 2. Merit list of candidates with GATE score <95 percentile will be prepared based on their performances in the interview only. Category 3. Non-GATE qualified candidates having a B. Tech./ B. E.degree in the concerned subject will have to appear for both the written test and the interview. The written test will be a qualifier for them and they have to secure certain cut-off marks set by the respective department. Candidates must score at least 50% marks in the written test to be qualified for the interview-based merit list. Category 4. Candidates from other relevant disciplines having a valid GATE score in the subject they are seeking admission will be considered. Since they are qualified in the GATE exam they will be exempted from the written test. However, irrespective of their GATE score, they have to appear for the interview and their selection will be based on their performance in the interview only. A common merit list of Category 2, 3, and 4 candidates will be prepared based on their performances in the interview only. |

In order to encourage merit, foster internal competition, and support economically disadvantaged students with a specific degree of academic success, the LNMIIT has made several sorts of Scholarships and Assistantships available.
Based on the following academic criteria, for choosing top rankers/meritorious students.

Category-1: The top 20 scorers on the JEE Advanced exam (in the general category, up to the top 5000 scorers). The scholarship amount has increased from INR 35,000 to INR 35,000 per semester. | Category-1: The scholarship award is up to INR 35,000 every semester if you have a CGPA of 9.81-10. |
Category-2: The top 20 scorers on the JEE Advanced exam (if they are in the top 7500 in the general category). Per semester, the scholarship is worth INR 30,000. | Category-2: The scholarship award is up to INR 30,000 per semester for category-2 students with a CGPA of 9.51-9.8. |

A limited number of BPL Scholarships are given for the most needy pupils.
BPL cardholders and National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries with an annual income of less than one lakh are eligible. (In some states, the BPL and APL categories were amalgamated into new categories, such as Patragrihasthi (Priority household) and Antyodaya, after the implementation of the aforesaid Act.)
Based on the following criteria, for a deserving and financially challenged female student. The scholarship will be worth INR 50,000. (INR 25,000 per semester).
In lieu of academic/community support work, certain semester/term-long assistantships/ stipends under the Earn While You Learn (EWL) scheme are offered.
Based on the following criteria, for a few deserving and financially challenged students. The value of the assistantship is equal to half of the tuition cost.
Allowable to a limited number of students (maximum four recipients, including all years) who are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the loss of a breadwinner in the family during the Degree Period. The sum of the assistantship is equal to the whole tuition charge.
It is permissible to handle students' financial difficulties (against work in the Departments, Projects, Library, etc.). The sum of the assistantship is up to 6000/- per month.
Allowable to address the financial challenges of (a maximum of six recipients, from all years) students (against work in hostels). The value of the assistantship equates to full or partial hostel cost waivers.
Acceptable to a select few (maximum of two recipients across all years) students who have a single parent and are experiencing substantial financial difficulty as a result of the family's lack of a second breadwinner throughout the Degree Period. The sum of the assistantship is equal to the whole tuition charge.
Available to deserving students in exchange for lab/theory work. The amount of the assistantship is up to 4000/- per month. When a semester or term is in progress, no one would be allowed to freely leave an assistantship of this type.
