MGR Medical University offers MBBS and BDS degrees at the undergraduate level. To be eligible for these courses, candidates must have completed 10+2. Selection for these courses is based on performance in the university's entrance test. Those interested in pursuing these courses may register online.

| MBBS | For Indian candidates Candidate ought to have finished 12 years of study in which the last 2 years must contain the subjects of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics alongside English with not less than 50% marks in each of the subjects. There is relaxation of 10% marks for SC/ST candidates. As suggested by National Committee the Candidate must study 10+2+3 pattern. In the event that this structure is not followed, then applicant has to undergo 1year of professional training before being admitted into medical school. Minimum eligibility marks O.C Minimum 60% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 60% of marks in each subject of Chemistry and Physics. Aggregate should not be less than 140 out of 200. B.C At least 60% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 60% of marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should be at least 130 out of a total mark of 200. M.B.C At least 55% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 55% of marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 120 out of 200. SC/ST At least 40% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 40% of marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should be at least 80 out of a total mark of 200. For NRI Candidates Candidate must have passed HSC examination with 10+2 pattern or equivalent recognized by the university. Candidate should have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in biology/botany and zoology and at least 50% marks in physics and chemistry. Candidate should have completed age of 17 years on or before getting admission to MBBS programme. |
Selection Process
The selection process will depend on a candidate's performance in the qualifying entrance examination's merit list. For SC/ST/BC candidates, a minimum aggregate of 40% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is required, while general candidates must obtain a minimum of 50%. NRI candidates will be selected based on their performance in the qualifying entrance examination.
