The training and placement cell at WBSU was started in 2009 to impart training to students such that they can get placed. The cell works in close coordination with the Department of Computer Science and Electronics. The cell provides 80-hours training to train them on how to crack interviews with private firms. Some of the key recruiters are TCS, Larsen & Toubro, Srei Sahaj E-Village Ltd., Tatwa & Limtex, Nicco Ventures, SRF Ltd, Tech Mahindra, and many more.
The result will be confirmed on the official website of the university. Applicants can check their result by entering the application number and date of birth. The result does not be sent to any candidate separately. The university will release the merit list on grounds of marks obtained by the candidates in the exam. Applicants will be called for counseling on the base of their ranks.
West Bengal State University (WBSU) is a public university situated in Berunanpukuria. The university is situated at 07 km off from Barasat city (the district headquarters of North 24 Parganas), Kolkata, North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal, India. All the 55 colleges (including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and B.Ed) in the district of North 24 Parganas, which were formerly affiliated with the University of Calcutta, are affiliated to this university. The Government of West Bengal through an Act of the Legislative Assembly has passed West Bengal Act XXVIII, 2007 implementing a long-standing public demand in creating the university named West Bengal State University at Barasat, North 24 Paraganas. This became functional from the academic session 2008–09. On 26 May 2008, there were 63 colleges formerly affiliated with the University of Calcutta. The University began functioning under its first Vice-Chancellor Ashoke Ranjan Thakur, the erstwhile Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University.
