Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College offers BA (Hons) degree, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), B.com. The eligibility criteria for the BA program is that candidates must clear 10+2 aggregate percentile with a minimum of 50% for general category and 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC. Candidates cleared 10+2 (CBSE or any Equivalent Board) with min. 45% of marks are eligible to apply for B.Sc. All of the UG courses are for a duration period of three years. Admission to the Undergraduate (UG) Courses at Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College is based on merit in the 10+2 or equivalent examination. Web Journalism

The Course aims to furnish the learning skills of students in using the web and internet as the main medium for journalism. This will include Blogging, journalistic writing for the internet, online articles, packaging, designing, interactive and cross-media options for websites. A perfect blend of theory and practical training aims to equip the participants with the skill to produce online articles, audio, video, pictures using various multimedia packages.

Sports Economics & Marketing

The sports industry is expanding at a fast pace all over the world. From an economic perspective, the sports media is a multi-billion dollar industry. Broadcast and cable networks currently have a billion contracts to televise sports programs. The rapid growth of sports in India is evidence of this fact. The sports programs have made its large space in the media industry. Today, every news channel is presenting special programs on sports. Despite the general economic slowdown in the world economy, growing sports business necessitates sports-centric management skills which can only be provided through a specialized course in Sports Economics. & Marketing. This course presents the core concepts of Sports Economics and is designed to introduce business majors to the rapidly expanding sports and leisure related industry. Students will learn about the managerial and economic aspects of sports. A study and analysis of the case studies will be included. Students will learn about the designing of international sporting events, international broadcasting rights, brand endorsement, working of advertising agencies. The course is designed in such a manner that equal weightage is given to both theory and practical which makes it unique in itself.

• Provide an overview of sports economics and marketing with the ability to evaluate the role of economics and business in the social environment of sports.
• Expose students to varying aspects of sports business, from a single player to the Board of management.
• The role of Media in the evolution of sports economics.
• This course will cover all major issues of sports economics and marketing, research, economic analysis, litigations, etc.

Important Information

• Fee once paid will not be refundable under any circumstances.
• All candidates should maintain 75% attendance to make their eligibility for appearing in the examination.
• Any candidate who is found to have concealed information about her/his age, qualification, etc. or violated any provisions, is liable to be removed from the rolls forthwith and will be deprived of the benefits of attendance, examination, results, awards, etc., in the program concerned, apart from appropriate disciplinary action and imposition of penalties.

Reservation:-

• The college has been granted minority institution status. 50 % of the seats in all streams are reserved for Sikh candidates.
• Sikh students qualifying for admission based on merit can claim admission under the general category. Suitable relaxation may be provided to the students who wish to study Punjabi and the Sikh minority students who shall have to study Punjabi as part of the curriculum.
• Students seeking admission based on ECA and Sports will have to fill up ECA and Sports form and attach the relevant certificates through the University website.
